Configuration• Parameters can be customized so thateach time SmartScore is loaded, the settings will default accordingly. • These defaults will apply under the ANALYZE and REPORT tabs.

STUDY tab PATIENT button

• Fill in any additional information not already autofilled from scan acquisition. • Any information supplied will be shown on the patient report.

• Colored buttons indicateonly one selection per row.

• Check marks will indicatethat multiple fields can beselected.

• Scroll bar on the right margin to continue to fill inadditional patient demographics.

•These additional fields are input in the PREFERENCES tab.



Under ANALYZE tab IMAGES button

• Depending upon scan set upeither 1,3, or 5 images willappear on a prospective gateddata set.

NOTE: If scoring a retro-spectively gated data set more images can be scrolled through.

• The highlighted blue icon inthe upper left corner indicates that this image is the selected image per location.

• Images can be deselected Superior and inferior to the coronary arteries by clickingon the blue highlighted icon inthe upper left image corner.

The A,B, and C buttons have no predefined ROI meaning, and are available for scoring additionaluser defined areas.


Select the vessel icon to bescored at the bottom of thepage.

Draw a box around the plaquein the vessel, using the leftmouse key. When you releasethe mouse all the scorablepixels will highlight.

NOTE: This box should be 50%larger that the area of plaque.

• During image review the physician can click on the DIAGNOSTIC button and type in a diagnosis of the anatomy.

• This box can be clicked on andmoved anywhere on the screen.

• The message will then beentered into the report.

• This menu will defaultto the preferences already setunder the CONFIGURATIONtab, ANALYZE button.

• Options can be changed for the current patient by clicking theDISPLAY icon.



REPORT tab SCORES button

• Select the appropriate tab toview the scores with eachdifferent algorithms. Each individual vessel is scored aswell as a total column to addall vessels and A, B, and C.

NOTE: When printing out The total score on the patientreport it is optional whetherA, B, and C regions will be Included. To include selectSCORE TABLE in the Preferences tab card. Next Select A, B, and C to be Scored along with the mainvessels

• Click the Send buttonto export report feature defaults.



REPORT tab PREVIEW icon

• Patient report can be previewed before printing. All text fields will show butno images.

• Click the Send button to output patient report according to default settings.



REPORT tab OUTPUT button

• OUTPUT button allows reportconfiguration changes. This menu will default to the preferences already set under the CONFIGURATION tab, OUTPUTbutton.

• Options can be changed for the current patient by clicking the OUTPUT button.

• Select the send button to output patient report according to user defined preferences.



QUIT tab

• Once completed click on the quit button to exit software.

PREFERENCES tab CUSTOMIZE icon

Header/Physician list:• This section is to establish thedefault report.

• The colored buttons indicate the location of the logo and address.

• Physician list will fill in all of the names on the report that have show in report checked.

• This list can be sorted andplaced in the report.

• Number of columns willautomatically sort the list accordingly.




Patient Demographics:• Check the “show in report”column to determine which patient demographics will appearin the patient report.

Additional Fields:• Up to 20 additional patientdemographics can be added to show in the report. Field valuecan be single line text or multi line text depending on the amount of information needed.




Generic Message:• This message comes standardwith the SmartScore software.Can customize this message to their preferences by typing inthe text field.



PREFERENCES tab CUSTOMIZE iconDiagnostic Message:• This field will come from theMessage typed in under the Analyze tab, Region button, Diagnostic. See p. 16.




Score Interpretation:• This area can be used as atool to show a global overview of how a change inthe patients score will affect the outcome.




Score Summary/Comparison:• Select which score to haveprinted on the report.

NOTE: If no previous score wasentered on the study page thenthe score comparison studysection will not print on report.

Ranking Guide:

• The ranking guide pagelocated in the PREFERENCEStab GUIDE button needs to befilled out.

• Patients can be compared toeach other by age, gender, orscore.




Category:• Clinical information based onCalcium scores to include:

•Diagnosis•Clinical Interpretation•Gender•Age Issues•Recommended Clinical Actions.

The 75% Table:• Allows entry of differentinformation for patients whose scores are in the 75% of calcium scores.

Note: If table is blank, all patient reports will print from the “Normal” table. If the 75%table has any information andthe score is in the 75% it willpull from this 75% table.

Algorithm:• Allows ability to determinewhich algorithms to print in thereport. Any algorithm with acheck mark will print.

Vessel Types:• Main Vessels: Will give thescore for the LMA, LAD, LCX, RCA, and PDA only.

• Additional Vessels: Will givethe score for the A, B, and Clabels.

Having both checked will Report all the vessels together.

Optional:• Image of the heart can be printed on the report to showthe anatomy of the vessels.

• Position of where to placethe diagram in the report isalso selectable.

Select Images:

• Pre-select the images to include in the report.

• Pre-select the number of images per sheet.




Physician Signature:

• Electronic signatures can beadded to the patient report.

• The signatures will have to beretrieved from a floppy discand stored in GIF format.

• Define the placement of thesignature on the report via radial buttons at the bottom atthe bottom of the screen.



Up/Down arrows:The up and down arrows will move thehighlighted section headers of the reportup and/or down in position on the patient report.

Undo Button:This button will undo the lastfunction/step performed.

NOTE: If these buttons arenot black then they are inactiveand there are no steps that can beundone.

Redo Button:This button will redo the lastfunction/step performed.



+ Button:More sections can be added to the report by clicking NEW button and selecting a section.

- Button:Sections can be removed by highlighting section in margin and clicking REMOVE button

• Select font typeby clicking on the pulldown menu. Font sizeis customizable as well.

• Select whether to export the report in PDF or HTML formats.

• Select margins forconfiguring report.Select the footerinformation to be printed on the bottom of the report.


SmartScore Quickstep Technical GuideePREFERENCES tab Templates: • Save multiple report templates in

the software as well as onto floppydisk. A list of template names will appear in the lower left margin. Tochange templates click on the name and the new template will be used.

• The GEMS template may not be removed. Other templates can bedeleted by clicking on the Deleteicon.

• All templates will be saved to the hard drive automatically.To save to floppy as a back up,highlight the report to be saved andclick on the arrow pointing to the right. To restore from the floppy theuser will highlight the report on the floppy side and click the arrowpointing to the left.

Guide:• One of several tools that can be used to rank patients into a percentile by age, gender, and score.

• This guide will increment by5% according to age, gender, and score.

• This ranking guide needs to be filled out after software installation.
