MIXING FUN AND BUSINESSby Kylie Shaw

The Shaw Family Owners Reunion was a hit! Not only was it a great time for the adults, but for the kids as well! This years meeting was held in Lake Geneva, WI. J Tom Shaw has said that he is “so excited that the meetings were so successful and thankful that difficult times have passed and overjoyed that we can all get together and that we should do this more often.” Shaw family reunions play a big roll in the companies success and we hope that we will be able to gather more often. Not only were there meetings, there was some water park action. It was the perfect setting for the average family. The kids would play at the water park while their parents were at meetings! So all around, the Shaw family reunion was an amazing experience and we hope to see you soon!

Thank you to all the Junior Press members for helping cover the fantastic Shaw Family Owner’s Reunion! It is safe to say that the event was a big, big hit and seeing so many of the younger generation involved was wonderful. I had a lot of fun working with you all.

Big thank you to the entire group as well; your enthusiasm and feedback has been tremendous. We are planning on getting together again, and working on details based on the feedback you

all provided. We will let you know as soon as we have plans. Our hope is that we can get as close to 100% attendance as possible; at least there will be more lead time this go round.

Let us know what you think about this format “Shaw Family Matters” as a possible ongoing Shaw Family Owner’s Newsletter. We will be discussing this topic at the upcoming Family and Trust Committee after the December 11 board meeting. Future newsletters might include: Birth

Announcements, W e d d i n g s , E n g a g e m e n t s , Honor Roll, S p o r t s Acheivements / H o n o r s , P r o m o t i o n s , New Jobs, Family Moves, Internships and any other info you would like to share with the family. One recent example is featured below. Gwynnie you ROCK!

For The Love of My Cousin...

Gwynneth Hogle completed the Jump Rope for Heart, benefiting the American Heart Association challenge, as part of a 6-member team at her school on October 23, 2014. Gwynnie and her team alternated their jump roping for 90 minutes. Gwynnie raised $1,000 and is very appreciative of all who donated.

Having met her cousin for the first time at the Shaw Family Owner’s Reunion, Gwynnie dedicated her Jump Rope for Heart effort to her cousin, Finnegan Shaw, who was born with the Congenital Heart Disease known as Tetralogy of Fallot.

Finnegan was fortunate to have his CHD detected early, but efforts like Gwynnie’s are so important

because early detection and research for CHD is so badly needed. For the record: Gwynnie you ROCK!

Thank Youby Peter Shaw

WE MISSED YOU!
