If we want to convince our educational leaders that schools can’t

flourish without a vibrant school library, we need to show them.

Help the Students Need School Libraries (SNSL) Campaign by entering our photo competition. All Australian school libraries are invited to submit photos to be in the running for one of several fantastic prizes to help a library thrive in 2019.

What’s it all about?

We want to see, hear and feel what your library, your patrons, your staff, your services are like. Snap a scene that reflects a thriving school library. For instance, you might spot students and staff who are: creating on laptops, learning to use a database, participating in a makerspace meeting, reading in a relaxed setting, discussing a book, working in groups, playing chess etc. Think about themes and expressions to capture: delight, awe, wonder, industry, collaboration, beauty, brilliance, silence, exuberance, concentration, curiosity, functionality, learning, appreciation, innovation and the full diversity of our Australian society.

What do I need to do? Requirements:

*Email: competitions@studentsneedschoollibraries.org.au by COB 3rd December, 2018. Attach:

1. High resolution photos .jpg or .tiff < 3 MB 2. Entry form completed with contact information 3. Declaration attesting to signing of media permissions for all persons pictured including photographer Conditions: You may enter any number of times. Email separately for each. SNSL will appoint judges to select or draw the winners. Their decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

How will this help support school libraries? If we want to convince our educational leaders that schools can’t flourish without a vibrant school library, we need to show them. I give the Students Need School Libraries (SNSL) campaign the irrevocable right to use my photograph/im-

age and likeness in all forms and manner (“My Image”) for use in the campaign, including, but not limited to, publica-

tion on Internet web sites, broadcasts and any other publications created during the course of the campaign.

I waive any interest that I may have in the copyright to (“My Image”) now or at any future time and acknowl-

edge that I am not entitled, nor shall in the future be entitled, to receive any payment or consideration in respect of it

and agree to make no claim or any payments for the Publication of My Image.

I understand SNSL cannot control unauthorised use of My Image by persons not associated with SNSL upon

the Publication of My Image. I forever waive any right to inspect or approve any Publication of My Image by SNSL. I

release and indemnify SNSL from any loss, damage, costs, expense, or claim (including consequential loss) connect-

ed with the Publication of My Image, including action for defamation, libellous material, breach of privacy, or copyright.
