This program is designed for dentists of all

specialties who have limited or no experience

with dental implants. Attendees will learn the

theoretical basics and practical procedures

for simple, single implant placement and

restoration. Hands-on exercises will be

performed on a specially designed type-2-

bone-density maxillary model, based on real

life patient casts and radiographic studies.

Curriculum:

Determine clinical scenarios and appropriate candidates for dental implant treatmentDevelop a dental implant treatment planPrepare the surgical site for the placement of a single-tooth implantSelect and place the optimal implant type for the surgical siteSelect the correct prosthetic components for implant restorationTake impressions for single-tooth prosthesis

Part I: Dental implant surgery and restoration -Lectures:▪ Introduction to dental implants and definitions ▪ Anatomy of dental implants ▪ Patient and case evaluation ▪ Anatomic considerations ▪ Study guides ▪ Surgical guides ▪ Bone physiology ▪ Osseointegration ▪ Protocol on placement of implants ▪ Hands on model activities including: Osteotomy preparation, Implant placement ▪ Hands-on exercise evaluation and conclusions

Part II: Lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops:▪ Treatment planning ▪ Protocol on placement of dental implants ▪ Protocol on dental implant impressions ▪ Hands-on model activities including: Extracting a dental implant, Osteotomy preparation, Dental implant placement and Occlusal considerations ▪ Hands-on designing the cemented prostheses: Impression techniques and abutment types and selection ▪ Hands-on exercise evaluation and conclusions

Instructors:Berry Stahl, DMD

Dr. Berry Stahl is Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, N.Y. and Assistant Attending at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. He is also Chief of the Resident Implant Program at St. Barnabas Hospital.

Joseph Santoro, DDS

Dr. Santoro is associate faculty at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, AT Still University. Dr. Santoro completed a 2 year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and fellowship in oral implantology at the University of Miami, FL. As one of just a handful of fellowship trained implantologists in the country, Dr. Santoro dedicated his career to the pursuit of excellence in implant surgery and bone regeneration.
