Yellow: Concern Needed

• Sneezing/coughing

• Ocular/nasal discharge

• Mild-short lasting lethargy

• Did not gain weight

• Soft stool

• Occasional vomiting

• Decreased appetite but still eating

• Unusual behavior

• Drinking less than normal

• Small patches of missing fur

If your kitten has yellow symptoms,Please book an appointment so ACPS vets can examine it. Let your support sergeant know.

Red: Action Needed• Not eating/did not eat during last meal

• Weight loss

• Liquid diarrhea or blood in stool

• Dehydration - dry/sticky gums, skin does not bounce back when pinched

• Listless - little to no movement or energy

• Repeated vomiting

• Bleeding

• Neurological symptoms - fainting, dizziness, seizures, walking funny (drunk), disoriented or confused, sudden aggression

During Shelter Hours – bring your kitten in immediately, no appointment needed.

If the shelter is closed, you can visit an emergency clinic or outside veterinarian.

Best Practices• Keep kittens isolated for at least 10 days• Keep all pets in house up to date on vaccinations• Wash hands frequently• If you volunteer at the shelter, or are around

other animals, change clothes when you get home

• Keep close watch• Know that not all kittens will thrive and not all

kittens survive – we are here to support you if that happens
