SNOMED CT is an acronymSystematized* Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical TermsThe point of SNOMED CT is to record clinical data electronically & consistently in order to improve patient careFrom April 2015 it will be used in all electronic care records in NHS England *this is an internationally agreed term which uses the US English spelling
