SNOW LEOPARD 3D POP-UP CARD WHAT YOU NEED • Recycled card • Pencils, pens and paints • Scissors and glue • A picture of a snow leopard INSTRUCTIONS 1. Look through a wildlife magazine or WWF’s website to find your favourite pictures of snow leopards in their natural habitat. You could use the picture on this download. 2. Fold a piece of card in half and draw or paint a beautiful snow leopard on the front of the card. 3. Cut two small slits, about 10cm apart, along the spine of the folded card. Open the card and fold the tab back the other way, to make a pop up. 4. Cut out another picture of a snow leopard and stick it to the pop up inside the card so that it stands up when the card is opened. 5. Add some interesting facts about snow leopards and why they are endanged. Read our snow leopard Explore poster for more information. 6. Write a pledge which describes what you will do to try and safeguard the beautiful snow leopard’s future. SPREAD THE WORD Send your card to a friend or family member. The magnificent and incredibly elusive snow leopard usually lives high up in the rugged mountains of central Asia, including parts of the Himalayas. Their thick fur and wide fur-covered feet mean they’re perfectly suited to their mountain home There are around 4,000-6,500 living in the wild but as they are extremely elusive we don’t know the exact number. Snow leopards are often poached for their beautiful coats and their bones can be used in traditional Asian medicine. Climate change is also affecting their mountainous home and their prey that lives there.
