What is a Masters?

A Masters degree is an academic degree

granted to individuals who have undergone a

course of study demonstrating a mastery orcourse of study demonstrating a mastery or

high-order overview of a specific field of study

or area of professional practice.

• Many kinds of Masters courses

• MRes – Masters in Research. Contains asignificant research element – good for PhDprepprep

• MSc – Masters in Science. An in depth study ofthe area

• MA – Masters in Arts/Humanities

• MBA – Business (usually very expensive anddone alongside a management job)
