WHERE IN NEW ZEALAND?

New Zealand offers students many wonderful regions from which to choose to live while you continue your studies. One of those regions is the province of Hawke’s

Bay, situated on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. Here are a few reasons why you might choose Hawke’s Bay as your New Zealand study destination.

Hawke’s Bay Airport in Napier is less than one hours flying time from Auckland or Wellington. Hawke’s Bay is a pleasant rural environment serviced by the twin cities of Napier and Hastings, so it offers a choice of country or city living. Hawke’s Bay is a sheep farming and fruit growing province and is also one of the country’s premier wine producing regions. The region has a Mediterranean climate with long, hot, dry summers and mild winters. With easy access to the sea, rivers, lakes, forests and mountains there are great opportunities for healthy outdoor adventure activities. Hawke’s Bay is a holiday destination itself, but is also less than three hour’s drive from other great visitor spots such as Rotorua, Taupo and the main North Island ski fields.

NAPIER CITY Right on the coast and situated halfway between the northern and southern boundaries of Hawke’s Bay is the city of Napier. With a population of just over 57,000 people, Napier, with a regional airport and port is the gateway to greater Hawke’s Bay. With its wonderful climate (over 2,000 sunshine hours per year) and unhurried lifestyle, Napier could well be the ideal study destination for young people seeking to complete their high school education. You should consider the following when choosing a place to live and study in New Zealand: Napier’s airport is just ten minutes from the city centre. The port is just two minutes from the city centre. Being a seaside city, there is easy access to a range of exciting water-based activities. Napier is termed the Southern Hemisphere’s ‘Art Deco’ capital and is a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists. Boutique, craft and market shopping are all readily available. Napier’s twin city of Hastings is just fifteen minutes away by car or bus. There is a wide range of educational institutions for a student to choose from. Within ten minutes of the city centre there are government schools, private schools, day schools, boarding schools, co-education schools, girls’ schools, boys’ schools, high schools and primary schools – all offering excellent educational opportunities.

Now you need to choose a school. If you are looking for a high school,

might be just what you are looking for.
