Your administrator enters the lyrics, key,
theme of your song into the CCLI data base
along with your name and ownership
information
YOU NEED A CCLI SONG NUMBER
Every song logged with CCLI receives a
number. This is the number you see
projected on the screen when you are at a
worship service
YOUR CHURCH NEEDS TO REPORT
SONG USE
Each church has the responsibility to report
the use of songs during each service. As a
songwriter, it is your responsibility to let your
church know you need it reported
YOU NEED LYRICS AND SOUND UP ON
CCLI SITE SO OTHERS CAN HEAR YOUR
SONG
CCLI will add lyrics, sound, and charts to
their site when they see that you are sharing
your music with multiple churches
YOU NEED TO SHARE YOUR SONG
WITH AT LEAST FIVE OTHER CHURCHES
Relationship with other worship pastors and
worship teams is very important. If your song
is one that needs to be shared others will
want to use it.
YOUR BAND NEEDS TO RECORD A QUALITY
VIDEO TO PUT UP ON FIRST TAKE, A CCLI
SERVICE
By recording a quality video of your song
using the worship band, you may have an
opportunity to enter your video on CCLI’s
First Take which showcases new songs
WHEN YOUR SONG IS USED AND
CHURCHES REPORT THE USE, YOU RECEIVE
ROYALTIES FROM YOUR CCLI
ADMIN/PUBLISHER
Royalties are scheduled and paid out by
CCLI every 6 months to songwriters in their
system
