SOC EMRIntegration

SUMMARY

Specialists On Call (SOC) offers EMR Integration as

a standard part of our solutions. We offer both HL7

and Direct Messaging as options to exchange in-

formation electronically with client EMRs. Utilizing

either method can eliminate manual interventions,

decrease resource requirements, reduce errors, and

increase efficiency.

Catalyze provides intelligent integration solutions through its Redpoint product and industry-leading services team. Data security and application hosting is powered by platform, Stratum. their HIPAA compliant

SOLUTIONSSOC offers multiple options, including HL7 and Direct Messaging.

What SOC can solve for youScanning and ArchivingFaxing means extra steps for a user to attach a report to a chart. Using Direct Messaging can remove scanning from the process

Printing History & Physicals(H&P’s)Are you currently printing and faxing a patients H&P?

Shorter wait timesFaxing can take hours to send.

AffordableFaxing costs can skyrocket based on usage, resulting in overage charges.

High-Res Legible ContentHave you ever received a fax that’s unreadable? It’s very common for fax users to experience a degradation in document quality. SOC solutions provide high quality clinical documentation.

HL7 SOLUTIONSHL7 Interoperability SOC offers a complete integration workflow that focuses on reducing manual tasks. We support sending MDM/ORU messages to your EMR. SOC engineers and project manag-ers will work closely with your team to ensure a successful integration. How does our HL7 solution work?nce the physician completes their consultation, all relevant data will be automatically sent to your system via HL7. Using a B2B VPN establishes a secure connec-tion between SOC and your system. We maintain a 99.9% uptime for all HL7 VPN connections.

Benefits of HL7 solution Among the many benefits to an HL7 interface, the most prominent is the reduction of manual intervention. If you are currently receiving faxes, you are most likely allocating extra resources to ensure patient documentation is correct in your EMR. Using HL7 can drastically reduce or even elimi-nate the need for any resource intervention.

Additional benefits of HL7 include:• Seamless exchange of information • Elimination of manual intervention to match patients • Real-time processes, with patient consultations re-

ceived in seconds• You receive the patient consult within seconds• Reduced implementation timeline working with our

experienced specialists and staff

DIRECT MESSAGINGSOC is also able to offer Secure Direct Messaging as an alternative to fax. Direct Messaging allows you to exchange information securely and efficiently.

What Direct Messaging can solve for you• No scanning required. You can send and receive

patient information directly from your EM

• Eliminate printing and faxing. All documents can be sent electronically.

• Rapid data delivery. Messages can be received in seconds rather than hours.

• Cost-efficient; Faxes can cost anywhere from .06-.10 cents/page. Direct Messages are .0002 cents/page.

• High readability. Most Direct Messages come directly from the EMR so file quality is retained.

• Automated workflows. While many fax workflows today are not automated, Direct Messaging allows your workflow to be automated with ease.

Benefits of Direct Messaging• No B2B VPN Required

• Easy to Implement

• Strong Security

• Easily send and receive referral information

• Quickly share patient information

• Create triggers and workflow automation

• Able to send CCD, PDF, HL7, and DICOM images

HOW DOES IT WORK? SOC WorkflowSOC offers a new approach to transitioning from fax. We suggest sending SOC a continuity of care document (CDA) during patient intake. Once the consult is completed, SOC will send back the recommendation via a CDA

Do I need a HISP? Can we enable HISP for all our physicians?Yes, you will need a Health Information Service Pro-vider (HISP) to provide a direct trust for your Direct Messages. A HISP provides the communication back-bone to send and receive messages.

SOC Direct Messaging • Meets meaningful use requirements

• Unified system all IT systems can leverage

• Improves clinical workflows

• Safe and secure

Universal Payload• Use the CCDA to send patient demographics

electronically

• Minimize changes that contribute to patient errors

• Reduce manual fax workflows

Direct PortalWeather you have Direct already enabled or are currently looking for a HISP. SOC will work with your IT team to send and receive messages. Need a HISP? SOC will provide one that’s included during implementation. Most EMR’s today offer you a HISP and Direct account. If you currently don’t have a HISP SOC can provide you a Direct Message portal.
