Created by David Burroughs and Bloomington Gold over 20 years ago, SURVIVOR® judging is an inspection process to determine if vehicles meet the following minimum standards of preservation on the day they are certified:

• Is at least 20 years old.

• Satisfactorily pass a 20 mile road test.

• Less than 50% of the entire vehicle has been repainted, restored, repaired, or modified.

• More than 50% of the unrestored finishes remain in nearly new condition.

Widely known as one of the finest of its kind, this Le Mans Blue 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88 convertible is recognized by the hobby as the most thoroughly optioned and most well documented L88 known to exist, boasting its original drivetrain, and mostly original paint. It is factory optioned with the 427/430 HP engine, 4-speed manual transmission, tinted glass, shoulder belts, auxiliary hard-top, rear defrost, F41 suspension, Positrac-tion axle, J50/ J56 heavy duty power brakes, engine block heater, K66 transistor ignition and audio alarm. One of 116 L88 Corvettes produced in the final year of L88 production with less than half produced as convertibles, it is a three-time inductee to the Blooming-ton Gold Special Collection (1988, 1998 and 2008), judged Bloomington Gold Survivor in 2009, and one of only six L88s in the Bloom-ington Gold Hall of Fame.

The car’s first owner was Richard Thomas, a sol-dier from Georgia who ordered it while stationed in South Korea. Ownership history includes long-term ownership by well-known collector Dr. Paul Noble – from 1978 to the late 1990s - and is also formerly of The Ron Landis Collection. The cur-rent owner purchased the car in 2005. The car is fully documented and includes the original tank sticker, statement of origin, Protect-O-Plate, GM Invoice delivery schedule and Bloomington Gold Hall of Fame certificate.

A one-owner car from 1967 until 2010 when it was purchased by only its second owner, this remarkable 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was awarded Bloomington Gold Survivor Certification this year. Finished in a rare and handsome pairing of Marina Blue with a Bright Blue interior, it is powered by the L71 427/435 HP Tri Power-equipped big block mated to a 4-speed manual transmis-sion. It has been driven only 36,188 miles and presents in exceptional condition right down to the original factory instruction tag on the original White soft top; a Black vinyl auxil-iary hardtop is also included. Documentation includes the all-important tank sticker (still on tank) and Protect-O-Plate.

This special-order 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was awarded highly-coveted Bloomington Gold Survivor status in 2012. The only known 427/435 HP-equipped con-vertible in its special combination of Sunfire Yellow with a White interior, it was sold new to Dr. Louis J Roussalis in Casper, Wyoming, equipped at the factory with a 4-speed, Soft Ray tinted glass, power windows, headrests, power headlamps, side exhaust, telescopic wheel, shoulder harnesses, Black vinyl aux-iliary hard top and F41 special suspension. Another Wyoming owner followed, after which it was owned by well known collector Mal Winer until bought by its fourth owner in 2009. Now with a low 39,833 miles and in spectacular original condition, this mid-year classic is documented with the tank sticker, Protect-O-Plate/warranty book.
