SOCIAL MARKETING MASTERCLASS 5 October 2018 Design Thinking PLACES ARE LIMITED Details Date: 5 October 2018 Location: Griffith University, South Bank campus Ship Inn Function Room Price: $499 + GST Catering: Full day catering included Queries: Email [email protected] Learn how to problem solve like a human-centred designer We are faced with “wicked” problems such as climate change, environmental degradation, poverty, inequalities, chronic disease, obesity, alcohol - and tobacco-related harm, and many more. By their very nature wicked problems are difficult to clearly define. Wicked problems encompass multiple interrelated causes, involve many different stakeholders who have different points of view about how the problem should be framed and solved, and are continually plagued by impassioned debates of equity and free-choice. Typically, wicked problems are long-standing and are seemingly intractable. Many efforts to address them over the years report limited success in the absence of continued funding. At their root, however, wicked problems oſten require different types of people to change their behaviours in order to improve and promote societal well-being. Embracing design thinking means believing that all problems, even the seemingly intractable ones, are solvable. Come along to our Design Thinking Masterclass and learn how your team can arrive at new innovative solutions that can engender lasting social change by simply placing the power with those who are actually living the problem. As human-centered designers, we believe that the people who are facing these problems day in and day out are the ones who hold the keys to lasting solutions. Learn how to problem solve like a human-centred designerWe are faced with “wicked” problems such as climate change, environmental degradation, poverty, inequalities, chronic disease, obesity, alcohol - and tobacco-related harm, and many more.

At their root, however, wicked problems often require different types of people to change their behaviours in order to improve and promote societal well-being.
