• A study conducted by Nielson Wire in June, 2010 showed that social networking accounts for 22.7% of all online activity in the U.S. (Higher than gaming by more than 10%)
• According to Twitter Blog, today there are more than 50 million tweets per day/with an average of 600 tweets per second. (In 2007 there was an average of 5,000 tweets per day.)

• Start Strong: Twitter users w/bio have 8x the followers than those without.
• Be interesting, show us your personality.
• Be authentic. (Martha Stewart)• Build relationships/Build a strong
following. • Cross promote in person when possible.• Engage and stay current.

Common Mistakes• Using a generic or uninteresting bio.• Using a ghost tweeter/new kid or low
level employee to manage profile.• Overfollowing – keep it manageable
or you will lose the “social” aspect.• Do NOT Auto-DM or Auto Follow!

• Tweet with your brand in mind• Mind your manners• Be responsive• Link to online sites/blog posts/upload
photos• Retweet often• Start a contest/poll/promotion, etc.• Ask & answer questions
