Hashtags - #

A hashtag is a way to unite global Tweets around some particular topic. Basically, these are tags that that help those who seek similar content discover your Tweets

Use hashtags to categorize your Tweets based on a particular topic or for a particular purpose – e.g. #followfriday is a fun tradition to recommend your friends (and the whole universe) new people to follow.

Hashtags are widely used to live-blog an event.

Twitter Lists

Twitter Lists are a new way to organize the people you’re following on Twitter.

It’s a grouping tool, like “friends lists” on FB You create a list that groups together people

i.e. (the members of your family, for example), and then you can get a snapshot of the things they are saying by viewing that list’s page, which includes a complete tweet stream for everyone on the list.
