• Social networking service is an online service that
focuses on building or reflecting of social relations
among people who share interests and activities.
• A popular feature of many networks are newsgroups or
bulletin boards where people can exchange messages
with like-minded individuals (Computer Networks)
• Google launched the Google+ service as
an invitation- only "field test" on June 28, 2011
• Allowing more transparency in who the users share
with and how they interact
• In late 2002, LinkedIn launched by Reid recruits a team of old
colleagues from Social Net and PayPal to work on a new idea
