In this photo, normally people will think that she’s rich and in a good family, because

of her clothes. Or maybe she’s a model? Because she looks so pretty and slim. But

actually she’s just a college student, she has a sense of fashion and make up to make

her self looks like a model. And she has fair skin, so that people will think she’s a

korean or japanese. In this case, the concept of social psychology is Representative

Heuristic. Representative Heuristic is a concept that people will guess something what

they see or hear, for example a guy wearing smart clothing standing beside a BMW

car waiting for someone, and some of us will guess that maybe he’s someone’s driver,

or maybe he’s waiting for his girlfriend to have a date, and the truth is he’s waiting for

his friend who is the car owner.

In conclusion, we can’t determine other people by surface factor or things through our

eyes and ears or photos and categorized them. This is the Representative Heuristic

which representing how we think and guess one person’s personalities, characteristic

or even their job and families.
