THE POPULATION CONTROL

Thomas More conceived the population control in a particular and important way, because if It is used correctly and consciously, It can lead to solve a lot of current problems. In fact we live in a world which is characterized by overpopulated territories and by other places, where the development of the population goes to negative. The rules ,established by Thomas More, would be useful because the population might have and express particular harmony and consistency in the development of the number of citizens

SOCIAL PROBLEMS

In our society there are a lot of problems which are connected with the number of citizens. The most important are the overpopulation or the bad birth rate.

OVERPOPULATION

The problems connected to the overpopulation are:

The increase of pollution. The depletion of non-renewable resources. The excessive waste production. The corruption of nature. Global warming and melting glaciers. The reckless construction of buildings, which

determine inhuman conditions of life.

POOR BIRTH RATE

The problems linked to the poor birth rate are: The development of an old company which

lead to an economic setback(if it isn’t handled correctly), because there are a few young people who work despite a lot of retired.

The decrease of modernization. The development of a static society and of a

culture which tends to not renew. The development of a new population policy

which is used to try to increase the number of citizens.

BIRTH CONTROL

The birth control is very important, however the rules that the State would develop, could interfere in the personal life influencing personal freedom. This is the risk connected to any political Utopia. In fact even Plato, who is interested in building a perfect State, hypothesizes to control the development of the births. He also anticipate some theories which were expressed by Thomas More, who was trying to keep constant the number of citizens in the society using particular rules.

UTOPIA O DISTOPIA?ESISTE LA “VITA PRIVATA’”AD

AMAUROTO?
