TRENDS ANALYST
In addition to massive demographic change, the world
is undergoing huge generational change. From the
Baby Boomers and Generation X and Generation Y,
it is now Generation Z and Generation Alpha that are
emerging. These new generations are global, social,
visual and technological. They are the most connected,
educated and sophisticated generations ever. They are
the up-agers, with influence beyond their years. They
are the tweens, the teens, the youth and young adults
of our global society. They are today’s students, the
emerging employees and a consumer force in their
own right with unprecedented influence over parental
purchases. They are the early adopters, the brand
influencers, the social media drivers, the pop-culture
leaders. They comprise nearly 2 billion people globally,
and they don’t just represent the future, they’re creating
it. To understand the trends, to respond to the changes,
and to be positioned to thrive in these changing times,
it is essential to understand these next generations.
Social, Cultural, Generational...Global!
Claire’s engaging speaking manner and excellent infographics kept the audience thoroughly engaged throughout the presentation, and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

There are 4.6 million reasons to engage Generation Z, the students of today and university graduates, employees and
consumers of tomorrow. They are truly the 21st Century generation, with the whole of their formative years lived in this
century. They are mobile, digital, global, visual and social. Their lives are post-lifestage, their learning is post-linear and
their careers post-structural. In this session Claire will outline how to best engage with the most formally educated,
technologically literate and materially endowed generation in history.
Social media skills have become as important as management and finance skills for today’s business leaders. Claire’s
research and this presentation focuses not just on the who and what of social networking but the why and how of the
social media business case. By leveraging the power of social validation and utilising the global social communication
channels and at the same time avoiding the pitfalls and reputation challenges these new platforms create, organisations
can become social business leaders.
Key generational, educational, financial and global trends redefining careers, including:
Demographic and workforce changes and emerging sectors

KEYNOTE & WORKSHOP TOPICS
Over the last couple of years the realities of massive generational change have dawned on many business leaders.
While the issues of an ageing population and a new attitude to work have literally been emerging for a generation, it
has been a sudden awakening for many organisations. In fact dealing with these demographic changes and specifically
recruiting, retaining and managing the new generations has emerged as one of the biggest issues facing employers
today. While Generation Z are still largely in the education system and only just beginning to emerge into the
workforce, within a decade they will comprise almost 1 in 5 workers.
With Australians living longer and working later, the workplace today comprises more generations than ever before.
Additionally, along with an ageing population we have an ageing workforce and employers have a focus of not just
engaging and up-skilling experienced staff but attracting and retaining the emerging generations. In fact over the next
decade, the proportion of Baby Boomers in the workforce will halve, while the number of Generation Y and Z workers
will more than double. In this session Claire will give an overview of each generation in the workforce and some
analysis of their needs and expectations as well as strategies to manage multigenerational teams and develop 21st
Century leaders.
The times are changing faster than ever – technologically, demographically, socially, and economically. In the ongoing
quest for relevance, it is imperative that organisations observe the changes, understand the shifts and respond to the
trends. In this session Claire Madden will provide a snapshot of the emerging demographic, technological and social
trends and provide an overview of the diverse generations and the impacts and opportunities these emerging trends
are creating.

Leading Teams in Changing TimesDeveloping emerging leaders & managing multi-generational teams
In a little over a generation, organisations have been transformed from hierarchical structures to collaborative
environments. Similarly, staff and volunteers have moved from long term commitment to valuing variety and frequent
change. Therefore it is imperative that leaders are equipped with strategies to build a culture which attracts and
inspires, implement leadership which supports and empowers and shapes an organisational climate which produces
both productivity and engagement.
