Vocationalqualificationsimpartwide-rangingvocationalcompetenceneededinworkinglife,specialistskillsinthefield,andcapacityforfurtherstudies.Thescopeofavocationalqualificationis120credits,mostlyconsistingofvocationalqualificationmodulesmadeupfromon-thejobworkandactivitypackages.Inadditiontocompul-soryvocationalmodulesofthequalification,thereisalargeselectionofoptionalones,forexamplethosethatarepartofothervocationalqualifications.Itisalsopossibletoindividuallyexpandthequalification.Uppersecondaryvocationaleducationandtrainingalsocontainmodulescomplement-ingvocationalskillsandoptionalmodules.Avocationalqualificationcanbetakenin2-4years,dependingonthestudent’sbasiceducationandworkexperience.

Avocationalqualificationcanbetakenthroughvocationaluppersecondaryeduca-tionandtrainingorasacompetence-basedqualification.

Attheirdiscretion,studentsorcandidatescantakeoneorseveralmodulesofthevocationalqualificationatatime,wheneverthisisappropriatefortheirplacementinworkinglife.Inthatcase,aplancoveringtheentirevocationalqualificationispre-pared.
