Welcome to the Societies and Volunteering Awards 2013
Through the numerous amounts of committee meetings and extensive preparation, every society has provided oodles of fun and involvement for its members. Additionally, many societies have represented students on a national scale, and overall provided students with the opportunity to get
involved in a variety of different interests.
Every effort made by these activities has had a positive impact upon both the student and local
community. These accomplishments have assisted in bringing everyone together, created
lifelong friendships and provided some of the most memorable experiences at university.
Throughout the year, student volunteers have taken part in a large variety of projects, be it through practical conservation work at Burrator Reservoir, redecorating the otter and butterfly sanctuary or helping at the monkey sanctuary. To date volunteers have contributed a remarkable

Awarded to students for their continual involvement in/commitment to their society or volunteering. Their commitment will be proven to be over and above what is required.
Awarded to final year students who already hold half colours and have made an exceptional contribution to their society during all 3 years (or more if appropriate) at University. Full Colours can be given without Half Colours under exceptional circumstances.
