A very warm welcome to Brunel University LondonI am so proud of our university, its courses, staff and facilities, and I am delighted that you are thinking about joining us.
Choosing a university is an important decision that will set the path for your future – from the career you follow to the friends you make. It could be the biggest decision you’ve faced in your life so far and we’re here to help you make the right choice.
Today you’ll get to experience life at Brunel first hand.
Meet our staff and students, see their work and hear all about your programme from the academic staff you will learn with.
Then, after lunch, visit our information fair for more about our accommodation, support services, sports and social life. You can also take a walking tour of our campus and accommodation with our student guides.
Our resident experts on student finance and careers will be delivering a series of afternoon talks. Most importantly, our student panel will tell
you all about their own experiences at Brunel with lots of opportunities to have your questions answered.
Since the university was established in 1966, we’ve achieved great things. In 2018, the challenges might have changed, but our aims are as innovative and ambitious as they always were. We are a leading research intensive university with excellence, innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit at the heart of everything we do.
We hope we’ll cover everything you need to know today, but if you have any questions left unanswered, please ask one of our staff or students who are here to help you in any way they can.
I very much look forward to welcoming you as Brunel students later this year.
My best wishes for an enjoyable day.
Professor Julia Buckingham Vice-Chancellor and President

Hollywood calls for Brunel film projectA short film made by Brunel University London students in partnership with industry professionals was screened at the prestigious HollyShorts Film Festival in Hollywood, USA. The Sound was selected from among thousands of entries to the annual festival and was screened alongside competition from major names, including actor and film‑maker Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket/Stranger Things).
The film was created under the Teach Brunel project, From Script to Screen, which enables students on Film, TV, Communication and Media courses to work with professionals from the film industry, improve their skills, and gain valuable on-set experience. Starring BAFTA-nominated actor Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones / Ripper Street) and Sienna Guillory (Eragon / Resident Evil), The Sound was produced
with BAFTA winner Noel Clarke (Star Trek / Brotherhood). The film, which follows a young girl desperate to find the source of the haunting sound plaguing her mother, screened at the world famous Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on August 13 2017.
