Terracon Project No. E1155014
Dear Ms. Davis:
Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon) is pleased to present to the Alabama Department ofTransportation (ALDOT) this soil test data report. The test reports provided herein wereperformed on selected samples from the borings performed in the area of the proposedSettlement Ponds to be constructed in conjunction with the I-59/I-20 CBD bridge replacementin Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.
The laboratory tests performed included Atterberg Limits and Sieve Analysis. The soils at thesite were typically AASHTO Classification A-6, A-7-5, and A-7-6. Based on the results of theselaboratory tests, we recommend that a typical coefficient of permeability (k) value ofapproximately 0.000001 (10-7) feet per minute be assumed for the in-situ clays encountered inthe area of the proposed ponds.
In addition to the laboratory reporting sheets, half-size copies of the boring location plan and testboring record sheets are also included with this report. Full-size sheets for inclusion in the planset will be submitted under a separate cover.
