Solanco Education Foundation

The Solanco Education Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization.

Mission Statement:The mission of the Solanco Education Foundation is to inspire greater academic achievement in the Solanco School District by working with the community to generate funding which provides students and teachers with innovative, exciting and creative educational programs and opportunities.

Solanco Education Foundation

“Re-established” by Superintendent Dr. Jon Rednak in 2002.

Foundation received contributions of $180,000 through the district’s contract with Pepsi.

Major fundraising activities: ** annual Fall Shoot-Out Golf Outing ** Pennsylvania’s EITC program (Educational Improvement Tax Credit program)

Provides scholarships to graduating Solanco seniors, and academic venture grants to Solanco teachers

Provides funding for important educational programs and initiatives in the district:** College Advising Corps at high school

EITC(Educational Improvement Tax Credit program)

Each year, the Solanco Education Foundation applies and is approved to participate in Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program.

Businesses that make donations to the SEF through the EITC program receive a 75% tax credit for the amount they have donated. Businesses that donate for two consecutive years or more receive a 90% tax credit.

Who is eligible to participate in EITC?Businesses that pay PA Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock / Foreign Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, Title Insurance and Trust Company Shares,Insurance Premium Tax, Mutual Thrift Institution Tax, Malt Beverage Tax, and Personal Income Tax.
