What is a FUEL CELL and How does the Market view them?
Fuel Cells are the first energy generation process in human history to use carbon as a fuel to produce Energy (Power & Heat) without Combustion but Chemically via electrolysis with low to zero emissions
There are two main types of Fuel Cells BEING low Temp PEM Fuel Cells (used in EVs) that are restricted to hydrogen as a fuel source and thus presently limited to a fossil fuel manufactured by the O&G industry (>95%) AND the High Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cell that is NOT restricted to hydrogen as a fuel source and operates at TWICE the efficiency of the PEM Fuel Cells
Due to the high temperature, SOFCs presently suffer from durability issues and currently there is no SOFC generator performing within operating profit parameters

Like most of its Peers, DE SOFC also does not have a marketable product. However with a decade of R&D from our University of QueenslandResearch Team (Originally from the Australian Govt CSIRO who developed the first commercial SOFC in the World), our place among these Peersis justified and our ability to leap frog to a commercial product real.

The Decade of R&D, includes significant time invested by DE Management in Technical Feasibility Assessment and proper commercial feasibility focus of our suite of IP.
We have remained well positioned with our Peers (who enjoy massive Market Caps). Core to effective research, is identifying the prime target issue which here is the fuel stack.
More important than an operating plant, is to develop a stack (the heart / engine of the SOFC) that works within acceptable “Life Cycle” parameters VIZ. affordable manufacture at scale, affordable maintenance and long life.
The intense heat and oxidation of materials are the enemies to this, and a viable stack has to date eluded our Peers and remains the holy grail.
Success in this will allow us to leapfrog others who seemingly are further advanced on the road to commercial product.
We believe our lab results augur well for repeating our findings in an operating product

DE SOFC – Direction As per UNIQUEST confirmation, DE has moved from TechnicalReadiness Level “TRL” 2-3 in 2010 to TRL 3-4 in 2016.
The relatively slow progress does not take into account IP wedeveloped for hydrogen production and tubular SOFCs fortransport and direct carbon applications
At completion of the latest LP Grant (matured June20) we areTRL5-6 for a planar SOFC stack targeted for the static C&Iwholesale power sector. Our next $5.0mio 3yr R&D phase will beto prove our Stack results and findings to TRL 7-8The surrounding balance of plant is known tech and with thestack validated to the parameters our R&D indicates to date, wecan leapfrog into production.On this we could argue we our next phase is TRL 8-9.
The Market is also communicating to us, our present readinesswould appeal to pre IPO and even IPO investment. So concurrentwith R&D, DE will being moving to accelerate market investmentwith pre-IPO alignment to a marque investment partner. Suitablepartners would be a major Clean Energy Fund or Gas DistributingCompany or gas producer looking to reclassify their fossil fuelresource “clean”.

Sathia was the Senior Ceramicist at CeramicFuel Cells from 1996 – 2015 and developedthe present SOFC fuel cell to produce thehighest power density and lowest degradation.He also developed the anode supported fuelcell from inception –from solvent base to waterbase products and developed failure testingmethod for production, as well as the cathodeand anode current collectors by printing andtape casting and spray coating. Sathia alsodeveloped the high volume manufacture of theanode and electrolyte supported fuel cellpowder processing and is a specialist in theoptimisation of glass seals.
