WarrantyKrug warrants Solis products to be free fromdefects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of their use. This warranty is applicable toproducts in use by their original purchaser. Thiswarranty does not apply to components andmaterials not manufactured by Krug: these aresubject to the specific warranties of their manufacturers (if any). Repairs or replacement ofany defect covered under this warranty by Krugwill be made, at our option and method, at nocharge to the original purchaser. Krug’sjudgement is final and binding with respect to thenature or cause of defects or damage, and thenecessity or manner or repair or replacement.

This warranty does not apply to defects ordamage resulting from:•normal wear and tear occurring with the use ofthe product•negligence, misuse, excessive use, alteration,improper cleaning or repair•substitution or use of incorrect or unauthorizedcomponents or material•handling or installation that is incorrect, or thatcauses damage or defect•damage incurred by a freight carrier other thanKrug•wearing of finishes and fabrics, and normal variations in materials (including dye lot variations)•properties of natural materials, including woodand leather•exposure to environments with uncontrolled temperature and humidity (products must betransported, stored and used in climate-controlledconditions) •mesh materials may wear or be damaged withuse, and fraying, cuts, marring or any otherdamage caused by normal or excessive use arenot a defect of the material.

Export PackagingKrug is pleased to provide the option for exportpackaging on all our products, to provide additional protection from damage.

Export packaging is provided at an upcharge of5% of the net selling price per item.

Export Packaging is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for:

(A) all shipments outside of the lower 48 statesand Canada

(B) all shipments that will be held in storage for anextended period prior to installation.

Important: Please note that Krug will not beresponsible for damage claims on productshipped or stored in the above conditions butwhere export packaging has not been utilized.

Freight Terms and Conditions1. All product is shipped FOB the Krug factory.Freight is either pre-paid to the destination (dealer’s dock or territorial warehouse) or not pre-paid, depending on established customerspecific freight terms.

2. Docks at the selected delivery location must be equipped to handle a 53’ trailer. If dock is inadequate for delivery by Krug, Krug will re-deliverto another location and any additional costs willbe charged to the customer.

3. When a Krug territorial warehouse (where available) is selected as the default delivery location, Krug pays freight cost to the territorial warehouse only, and no further. The Customer isresponsible for all charges from this point.

4. For all deliveries, it is understood that Krug orits agent is making a dock delivery only (equippedto handle a 53’ trailer), and any further work oftruck unloading, delivery beyond the dock, installation, and removal of packaging is notauthorized or paid for by Krug.

5. Drop shipments to the installation site, andtimed deliveries, are available on larger shipments(full truckloads or slightly less) at no additionalcharge. Drop shipments or timed deliveries forsmaller shipments may not be available, or if available will require a surcharge. Deliveries on anafter hours basis, or on weekends, or any otherspecial requirements, may be subject to a surcharge. Location and contact information, andthe requested time of delivery, is required at leastone week prior to the acknowledged shipmentdate. If this information is not provided one weekin advance, or if the location or time of the dropshipment is changed less than one week inadvance, a surcharge may be applied, and/or thedrop shipment may not be scheduled. For deliveries requested Monday to Thursday after5:00 pm, please apply a surcharge of $250/shipment. For deliveries requested Mondayto Friday before 7:00 am, please apply a surcharge of $250/shipment. For deliveriesrequested Friday (after 3:00 pm) or weekends,please apply a surcharge of $500/shipment. (localtimes)

6. For all deliveries - whether to the Customerlocation or drop shipment - any circumstancesthat result in the delay of our carrier (includingunsuitable receiving facilities, or facilities not openor available), service charges will be applied at therate of $75/hour. Where re-delivery is necessarybecause of these circumstances, the full cost ofre-delivery will be charged. If Less Than TruckLoad is delivering, one hour is allocated to unload.Any additional time required to unload after thefirst hour is $75/hour. If a Truck Load is deliveringthe order, three hours is allocated to unload. Anyadditional time required to unload is $75/hour.Direct deliveries to site for net orders are possible,(must exceed $60,000 net), and accommodate 48 - 53’ trailers. Krug is responsible for delivery tothe approved delivery address. If an addresschange is required, this must be authorized byKrug 5 business days prior to ship date. Any additional delivery costs incurred after this timewill be charged to the customer.

Product Strength and Durability TestingAll Solis products have been thoroughly tested, and exceed the testing requirements ofANSI / BIFMA X5.1 - 2002.

Solis seating has been tested to significantlygreater standards for strength. Weight capacitiesare as follows:

Guest & Patient Chairs (21” & 24”) - 350 lbsBariatric Chairs (30” & 44”) - 750 lbsMultiple Seating & Pre-configured - 350 lbs per seat 2-Seat Free Span - 525 lbs per unit3-Seat Free Span = 750 lbs per unit

Solis Bariatric seating has been tested to significantly greater standards for strength. It hasbeen tested to, and exceeds a 450 lb. proof loadtest on the back, and a 750 lb. drop test on theseat.

Specific test results and documentation are available on request.

Customer SatisfactionIt is the primary goal of Krug and our staff toensure the complete satisfaction of our customerswith our products and performance.

If a problem arises with a Krug product after theexpiration of the limited warranty period, Krug willexercise its best efforts to achieve the satisfactionof the customer in a manner that is fair to all concerned.

Damaged ShipmentsAll Krug product is well engineered, carefullyinspected, and expertly loaded onto our trucks atour Distribution Center. If you receive any damaged freight, we ask that you do not refusethe shipment. Krug is not responsible for damageto goods that occurs in transit or storage. It is thepurchaser and/or receiver’s responsibility toexamine the goods upon receipt and to notifyKrug of any damages, overages or shortages. Anydiscrepancies should be noted on the Bill ofLading. The delivering carrier will not accept responsibility for shortages or damages if signed‘‘clear’’. Notification of concealed damage claimsmust be made to Krug Distribution within 5 daysof delivery, along with digital pictures if available.All product and packaging must be available forinspection. Krug liability ceases after 5 businessdays and Krug will not be responsible for concealed damages if shipments are leftunopened. Krug is not responsible for the condition of product that is stored or installed inan environment where temperature and humidityare not controlled.

Field Product Report AuthorizationKrug's written authorization, in the form of an FPRnumber, must be obtained prior to incurringcharges of any kind if Krug is expected to paythese charges. This includes authorization for fieldrepairs and replacements, installation and deliverycharges. Krug reserves the right to have its representative inspect product related to anyrequest for such authorizations, prior to thatauthorization being provided. Deductions frominvoices paid for any charges to Krug, withoutprior written authorization in the form of an FPR,will not be accepted. Digital photographs may berequired to complete the FPR process.

ReturnsNo merchandise may be returned without Krug’sprior written consent. In the event of an authorizedreturn, a Field Product Report (FPR) number willbe issued, and a restocking charge will apply.Return transportation charges must be prepaid.Unauthorized returns will not be accepted and willbe returned freight collect. All merchandise beingreturned must be properly packaged in its originalor comparable replacement packaging to ensureprotection of the product during handling andtransportation. Returns on orders duplicated bythe customer must be received in their originalpackaging to be accepted. Product being returnedwhere Krug has authorized its liability for replacement or repair will be thoroughly inspectedon its return, and the results compared to the reason for the return stated on the FPR. Any discrepancies, such as additional damage, signsof usage, missing parts, etc., will result in anadjustment to the amount of credit issued.

Custom CapabilitiesOver 15% of our orders involve some type of custom work, and we invite our customers tomake use of our extensive capabilities.

products2) Custom finishes3) For larger orders, completely custom-

designed products, as well as non-standardwood species can be specified.

Care and Maintenance Wood FinishesAlthough Krug’s extensive finishing processensures a durable finish on all our products, thereare several steps that can be taken to protect andprolong the life and beauty of the finish. Dust onlywith a clean, dry cloth, going with the grain. Cleanany marks with a damp cloth, using a small quantity of mild soap or detergent. Do not use any wax-based polish, spray or silicone. Eventually, afilm will build up and discolor the top. Do not placeyour furniture in a position of permanent exposureto direct sunlight.

LeatherLeather is a natural product and requires very little care during use. Most stains can be removedwith a clean dry cloth. For stubborn spots andstains, use a mild non-detergent cleaner, rinsewell and let air dry naturally. Do not use saddlesoap, cleaning solvents, furniture polish, oils, varnish, abrasive cleaners, soaps or ammoniawaters.

Fabric UpholsteryProfessional upholstery cleaning is recommended.

Mesh BacksMesh backs can be cleaned with warm water andmild soap. Other “soft household cleaners” suchas Windex, have very good cleaning results.Water diluted to a maximum of 25% bleach andother intensive cleaning solutions (Virucide, accelerated peroxide) such as PerCept RTU andVirox can be used without affecting the color orintegrity of the mesh. All cleaning products shouldbe applied with a cloth, sponge or soft bristle brush.

Wood is a natural product with inherent color variations that will never be fully mitigated bythe finishing process. Please anticipate variation in colors within a single unit, from pieceto piece, and from Krug wood finish samples. If a very close match is required, a samplemust be provided with the order and an upcharge will apply. Exact color matches are notpossible.

Custom Wood FinishesAdd 10% list to your order for special finishes on Solis tables. Custom wood finishes areavailable on Solis wood arm caps and wood side rails. The upcharge for custom finishes is$25 list per wood arm or $25 list per wood side rail. A minimum upcharge is $500 list perfinish per order. (For example, on all orders up to $5000 list an upcharge of $500 will apply,on orders $5000 and up add 10% list to order.)

Special finish upcharges on seating products are calculated on a grade 1 value. For orderswith special finishes, a sample that is a minimum 3” by 3” must be received with the order.Special finishes may add additional lead time to production schedules. Since wood is a natural product, some variations in grain, color and stain acceptance will occur. In our finishing processes, we try to minimize variations, but some variation between samples andfinished goods should be anticipated.

Dual FinishesAdd 10% list per item if specifying dual finish.

Standard Wood FinishesNo upcharge will be applied when specifying a finish available as standard on one speciesonto maple seating and occasional tables. Clear finishes are not available on other speciessince they are a clear finish on top of the natural veneer color.

CUSTOMER’S OWN MATERIAL - C.O.M./C.O.L.

Customer’s Own Material (COM/COL)COM/COL must be received three weeks prior tothe acknowledged ship date. Orders withCOM/COL not received by the required deadlinewill be delayed.

A description of the upholstery cover, includingsupplier name, pattern name, upholstery covername and color number must be included with thepurchase order.

COM/COL testing requires 3 business days and samples are to be directed to Customer Service.The customer has the option of providing thesample COM/COL before, at time of order, oronce the sample COM/COL is received. If the customer does not send a sample for approval inadvance of sending actual material, Krug will notbe responsible for the cost of any upholsterycover or other material that it determines to beunsuitable for the product or our process.

When the COM/COL upholstery cover is receivedat Krug, it must be clearly identified with the upholstery cover name and color, and tagged withname of the Krug customer and purchase ordernumber. Krug will inspect all COM/COL upholstery covers when received to determine if itwill be suitable for upholstery. Where Krug feelsthat the upholstery cover or leather specified will compromise the quality or integrity of our products, customers will be contacted to directthese concerns. Further, Krug reserves the right torefuse to accept and use any COM upholsterycovers or leathers that will compromise our products in any way that is unacceptable to Krug.Krug cannot assume responsibility for the durabilityor tailoring quality of customer’s own material.

Yardage specified in this price guide is approximate. In the case of multiple productorders, multiply the number of items by the COMyardage specified to determine upholstery coverrequired, unless otherwise indicated. Additionalyardage may be needed if the material is less than54” wide, or patterned or striped and requiresmatching. All COMs are cut “up the roll” unlessotherwise stated by the customer. All stripedupholstery covers will be applied vertically unlessotherwise stated by the customer and afterapproval by Krug. Krug will not be responsible fordirectional or positional problems with its application of COM material, unless it has beenprovided with explicit instructions by the customer. Special instructions should be sent toKrug Customer Service, including a sample (orphotocopy) of the upholstery cover. Krug is notresponsible for instructions sent with the upholstery cover rolls, or for the method of upholstery if no instructions have been provided.

Price increases and freight charges forCOM/COL acquired on the customer’sbehalf will be passed onto the customer.

Application of Directional Upholstery coverSome COM upholstery covers will be considered directional by Krug even thoughthey are not considered directional by thesupplier. All COMs are automatically cut “upthe roll” unless otherwise stated by the customer (please see below).

COM/COL orders cannot be scheduled into production until the upholstery cover hasarrived and inspection is complete.

All packages must be clearly marked ‘‘ForCustoms Clearance by Russell A. FarrowCustom Brokers’’.

According to the North American Free TradeAgreement (NAFTA), goods shipped betweenthe United States and Canada can qualify forexemption from all duties, or for a reductionin duties, if the goods can be proven to originate in either the United States, Canadaor Mexico.

Canada Customs requires that a NAFTACertificate of Origin and a CommercialInvoice be completed and sent with theupholstery cover shipment. The CommercialInvoice must clearly state the description of theupholstery cover, the selling price, the make-up orcontent, and the purchaser. The absence of thesetwo documents will delay the shipments at theU.S./Canada border, thereby potentially delayingthe customer order. If the total value of the shipment is less than $1200 U.S., Customs willaccept a Low Value Statement of Origin in placeof the NAFTA Certificate of Origin. The Low ValueStatement must be signed by a representative ofthe exporting company. This statement may eitherbe included on the commercial invoice orattached to the invoice.

CAL133 & Moisture BarrierCalifornia Technical Bulletin 133 is a flammabilitytest for seating. Krug offers a compliance method,in combination with non-flammable upholsterycovers, may enable products to meet certificationrequirements for this test. This process at thesame time also provides the products with aMoisture Barrier - a treatment that helps to prevent the passage of liquids and moisture toinside of the uphostered components - therebyconferring sanitary and anti-infection benefits. Sowhen CAL 133 is specified, the product also automatically has a Moisture Barrier, and when aMoisture Barrier is specified, the product also features the compliance method and low flammability features of CAL 133.

The application of this up-charge and the compliance method does not mean that the specific configuration of product and upholsterycover are tested and officially certified as beingCAL133 compliant. If the official certification isrequired, Krug will provide this (through an independent certified testing laboratory) at acharge of $700 per item, plus the cost of the product to be tested. Lead time for certificationtesting is typically 4-8 weeks. Krug assumes noresponsibility for the testing of our products incombination with upholstery covers, or for theresults of any testing conducted. Some specificconfigurations of products and upholstery havealready been tested. Please contact CustomerService for additional information.

PROGRAM DETAILSKrugExpress orders are ready to ship by the date acknowledged. Delivery and shipping schedules may result in actual shipping of orders at a later date. Statutoryholidays and scheduled factory vacations may add to acknowledged lead times of KrugExpress orders. Unless otherwise specified on the order, the customer’sstandard method of shipping Krug products will be utilized.

Available factory capacity for KrugExpress is filled by orders received on a ‘‘first come, first serve’’ basis. If the normal KrugExpress lead time is not available foryour order because available capacity has been filled, you will be immediately advised of the earliest available ready-to-ship date. Please consult your CustomerService representative in advance if you wish to confirm the specific lead time availability for a KrugExpress order.

Orders must be received by midnight of a given day for that day to be considered the official day the order is received. Order lead times are acknowledged fromthe date the order is received, but not including the date the order is received.

KrugExpress orders must be ‘‘clean’’ when received in order to be considered officially received on a given day, and lead times will be acknowledged from thedate orders are determined to be ‘‘clean’’. Changes to KrugExpress orders are not allowed under any circumstances. Orders for product on KrugExpress mustclearly state: ‘‘KrugExpress’’. SOLIS | PRODUCT FEATURES

CLEAN OUTAll Solis seating models have a built-in clean out feature: a space at the back of the seat that allowsdirt, debris and liquids to fall to the floor for easyclean up and maintenance - designed so that itdoes not detract from the comfort or appearanceof the product.

TUBULAR STEEL CHAIR FRAMEThe overall aesthetic frame of the chair is builtfrom structural steel tubing, both elliptical and rectangular for exceptional strength and appealingdesign. The frame is electro welded and polishedjoints for ease of cleaning and a one piece look.Available in eight powder-coated finishes. SilverMetallic is offered as Krug’s standard finish. For allmetal finishes other than Silver Metallic, there is aminimum quantity of 30 units per color and areavailable for an upcharge of $40 list perseat/table. Microban anti-microbial finish is standard, with no upcharge, when frame finishesother than silver metallic is ordered. Solis silvermetallic frames are available with an anti-microbial finish for an upcharge of $40 list perchair or table. Upcharges for quantities less than30 units per color, per order can be obtainedthrough Customer Service.

STEEL SEAT FRAMEThe structural seat frame is made from weldedsteel with a powder-coated finish that allows Solisto well exceed ANSI/BIFMA standards.

HIGH DENSITY FOAMSolis features dual density foam that is soft on theoutside for comfort, dense on the inside for highdurability. The seat and back foam features acompound curvature that supports healthy sittingpostures, while also designed to ease ingress andegress.

LATEX-FREEKrug products are made with latex-free materials,to prevent the allergic reaction that latex causes insome people.

GANGINGAll Solis Freestanding chairs can be ganged usinga ganging bracket. The powder-coated metalplate is fastened to the underside of the steel siderails using the pre-existing holes in the frame.

FLEX BACKThe ergonomically-designed back has a slight flexing action, which significantly enhances comfort.

WALL SAVERThe angle of the back and the rear legs aredesigned to keep the back away from the wall, toprevent wear and damage to both the chairs andto the walls of the facility. Patient and Guest chairswith mesh backs are excluded as they do nothave the wall saver feature.

CASTERSLocking casters are available on all 21” and 24”guest and patient chairs. Two rear casters areavailable for an upcharge of $50 list per chair.Four casters are available for $75 list per chair.Hard casters are standard, soft wheel casters canbe ordered for $40 list per chair or $20 list for twocasters. The Solis caster is not a heavy-duty caster - it is designed and rated for normal useand load bearing, but has the potential to fail withexcessive use, force, or weight. The caster wasdesigned to allow the chairs to be moved for easeof cleaning and furniture arranging. Krug is notresponsible for caster breakage under any circumstances. Solis casters can purchased forfield replacement.

WOOD SIDE RAILSSolis can be specified with solid wood side rails,which, along with the selection of wood arms anda choice of metal finishes, provides a warmer lookand feel. All Solis wood components featureKrug’s anti-microbial, high durability Enduraguardfinish. Wood Side Rails are available for anupcharge of $80 list per chair in Beech or $100list per chair in Maple. Wood side rails are notavailable with closed arm panels.

WOODEN ARM Wood arms are available in either beech or maplehardwood and in 22 Krug standard finishes. Maple arm caps are available for an up-charge of$50 list per arm using beech pricing.

EASY ACCESS ADJUSTABLE GLIDESWith the larger footprint of this chair and criticalimportance of stability for the user, we haveincluded adjustable glides on the front legs - thisallows the Easy Access chair to be perfectlyleveled to any floor for maximum safety and stability.

ANTI-MICROBIAL FINISH Solis products are available with anti-microbialfinish technology that inhibits the growth of moldsand mildews. Surfaces coated in this finish willhave reduced fungal growth, and spores fromgerms, microbes and bacteria will not multiply onthe wood and metal. The anti-microbial finish isstandard on all wood components, at no additional up-charge. Solis silver metallic framesare available with an anti-microbial finish for anupcharge of $40 list per chair or table.

FINISH DURABILITYThe Krug Enduraguard finish, a proprietary catalyzedvarnish formulation, has been repeatedly shown,through independent laboratory testing, to be theindustry leader in durability and abrasion resistance. The Krug finish looks better longerthan competitors, and is uniquely suited to thedemands of healthcare environments.

ANTI-MICROBIAL URETHANE ARM Solis arms are durable, comfortable, and longlasting. They are made with anti-microbial technology injected throughout the arms, sothe anti-microbial properties are retainedeven if an arm is damaged on the surface.

ADJUSTABLE HEADRESTThe adjustable headrest uses dual density foamproviding excellent support and comfort. Theheadrest is securely fastened using an innovativeclip allowing the headrest to be easily removed forcleaning and/or replacement. The headrest is easily adjusted by sliding the headrest verticallyallowing the user to maximize their comfort.

EASY CLEAN BACKREST COVERSEasy clean backrest covers are available on allmesh back chairs. They are removable, replaceable and cleanable. The easy cleanbackrest cover features a foam interior for comfortand durability.

REPLACEABLE COMPONENTSSolis chairs are uniquely designed to allowvirtually all major components to be field replaced,providing a very cost effective means tosignifically extend the life of the product. Seats,backs, arms, frames and casters are fieldreplaceable. Pricing and model numbers can beviewed online at www.krug.ca.

CUSTOM CAPABILITIESModifications in dimension, seat and back shapeor thickness, and other modifications are possiblewith Krug's capability to customize for specific requirements and needs. We can also providecustom finishes.

OPTIONSCombination Upholstery OptionsWhen combination upholstery is with upholsteryof the same grade or COM, an upcharge for dualfabrics is $20 list per unit and $40 list per unit forthree fabrics will be applied. When graded in combination upholstery is selected, use the highest upholstery selected or contact CustomerService for a quote (please provide the fabricsspecified and a description of where each fabric isto be applied on the product in order to obtain a quote).

CAL133 & Moisture BarrierCalifornia Technical Bulletin 133 is a flammability testfor seating. Krug offers a compliance method, in combination with non-flammable upholstery covers,may enable products to meet certification requirementsfor this test. This process at the same time also provides the products with a Moisture Barrier - a treatment that helps to prevent the passage of liquidsand moisture to inside of the uphostered components -thereby conferring sanitary and anti-infection benefits.So when CAL 133 is specified, the product also automatically has a Moisture Barrier, and when aMoisture Barrier is specified , the product also featuresthe compliance method and low flammability features ofCAL 133.

The application of this up-charge and the compliancemethod does not mean that the specific configuration ofproduct and upholstery cover are tested and officiallycertified as being CAL133 compliant. If the official certification is required, Krug will provide this (throughan independent certified testing laboratory) at a chargeof $700 per item, plus the cost of the product to be test-ed. Lead time for certification testing is typically 4-8weeks. Krug assumes no responsibility for the testing ofour products in combination with upholstery covers, orfor the results of any testing conducted. Some specificconfigurations of products and upholstery have alreadybeen tested. Please contact Customer Service for additional information. CAL 133 and Moisture Barrier isavailable for $40 list per yard.

Removable Covers & Replacement Components• Seat Covers - $55 list per seat• Back Covers (21”, 24”) - $35 list per chair (uph. only)• Back Covers (30” and 44”) - $55 list per chair.Optional Removeable seat and back covers can bequickly installed on Solis products that were originallyordered with the Removable cover option. Replacementseat and back covers can also be installed on Solisproducts that were not originally ordered with theRemovable cover option, with some simple stapleremoval on the original seats and backs. Complete Meshbacks can be ordered and field replaced.

The design of the tables for Solis Multiple Seating allows for any table to be very easily added or moved to a new position within the configuration - or completely replaced - after the product has been first installed. The attachment of the tables is designed so that they can be readily be taken out of the configuration without any defacing of the adjoining seat frames.

Linking tables also feature a universal, non-handed design:They can be moved to reverse position in almost every configuration, providing a high level of flexibility for reconfiguring.

GANGINGAll Solis Guest, Patient, Free Span and Pre-configured chairs can be ganged together using a ganging bracket. The powder-coated metal plate is fastened to theunderside of the steel side rails using the pre-existing holes in the frame. One ganging bracket is required per side and will be shipped installed to one of theframes. Please note: Ganging brackets are not required for multiple seating (start, center and end chairs).
