Solitaire Whites + In the Black Runner Please read all instructions before you begin. Seam allowance is 1/4" unless otherwise stated.

Use a light sizing/starch on the squares before cutting triangles to help control stretching along the bias edges. Press according to arrows.

Strip Sets Group 1: Fabics 1/2/3

-Sew a (F3) UW strip to a (F2) SW strip. Make 1.Cut (10) 60° triangles.

-Sew a (F2) UW strip to a (F1) J strip. Make 1.Cut (10) 60° triangles.

-Sew a (F3) UW strip to a (F1) J strip. Make 1.Cut (10) 60° triangles from each set.

-Sew a (F9) UW strip to a (F8) SW strip. Make 1.Cut (4) 60° triangles.

-Sew a (F8) SW strip to a (F7) J strip. Make 1.Cut (4) 60° triangles.

-Sew a (F9) UW strip to a (F9) J strip. Make 1.Cut (4) 60° triangles from each set

-Sew a (F12) UW strip to a (F11) SW strip. Make 1.Cut (4) 60° triangles.

-Sew a (F11) SW strip to a (F10) J strip. Make 1.Cut (4) 60° triangles.

Strip Sets Group 2: Fabics 4/5/6

1. Trace the 60° triangle template on the last page onto template paper or similar. You can also use the 60° marks on your rulers if you prefer that method.

2. Sew the strip sets together and cut the 60° triangles as illustrated below. Fabric will be abreviated to 'F'. There are 12 triangle sets that are used to make the blocks.

3. Sew the following blocks from the Group 1 triangles in step 1. Each triangle is noted below by the strip set it was cut from. Press seams open.

5. Sew the corner blocks using leftover triangles from Group 1 and 2 strip sets.

4. Sew the triangles from the remaing groups together make the following blocks.

6. Sew the blocks into rows as shown. Press rows in opposite directions.

7. Sew row to row. Press open.

8. Layer the backing (wrong side up), batting and quilt top (right side up). Baste layers to secure. Quilt as desired.

9. Sew the binding strips together into one continuous strip. Press in half length-wise.

10. Trim the excess backing and batting. Sew the binding to the quilt top with a 3/8” seam allowance, mitering the corners. Turn the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch down by hand with matching thread.
