The word mystery is derived from the Latin word ‘mysterium’, which means ‘something that is impossible to understand or explain’. It is something which we can’t know everything about. It mostly accounts of things which are indefinite or ancient. Science, History and Geography are some subjects that are associated with solving mysteries. The most current mystery of the world was the disappearance of the Malaysian aircraft MH370 during its flight, which is still unsolved.

Some other mysteries are the Bermuda Triangle, the existence of Aliens, the lost country Atlantis, and the unopened temple door at Karnataka. These mysteries have forced the scientists and historians to labour their brains.

Extraterrestrial l i fe is  l i fe that does not originate from Earth. It is also called al ien l i fe. These as yet hypothetical forms of l i fe range from simple bacteria-l ike organisms to beings far more complex than humans. The possibil ity that viruses might exist extra terrestrial ly has also been proposed. The development and testing of hypotheses on extraterrestrial l i fe, astrobiology, also considers Earth-based l i fe in its astronomical context. Many scientists consider extraterrestrial l i fe to be plausible, but there is no direct evidence of i ts existence. Since the mid-20th century, there has been an ongoing search for signs of extraterrestrial l i fe, from radios (to detect possible extraterrestrial signals), to telescopes (to search for potential ly habitable extra solar planets).NEXT

UFO sightings also aroused beliefs among the people.

A UFO is any apparent anomaly in the sky that is not identifiable as a known object or phenomenon. Such anomalies may later be identified, but depending on the evidence or lack of evidence, such an identification may not be possible generally leaving the anomaly unexplained.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370) was a scheduled international passenger flight that disappeared on Saturday, 8 March 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia to Beijing International Airport, China. Air traffic control received the aircraft's last message at 01:20 MYT when it was over the South China Sea, less than an hour after takeoff. It was last plotted by military radar at 02:15 over the Andaman Sea, 320 Km northwest of Penang state in north western Malaysia. At 07:24, Malaysia Airlines reported the flight missing. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER, was carrying 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations.

There has been no confirmation of any flight debris or any crash site, resulting in many unofficial theories about its disappearance. Analysis of these communications by multiple agencies has concluded that the flight ended in the southern Indian Ocean. On 24 March, the Malaysian government concluded that “ flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean.” At the time of its disappearance, and if the presumption of a loss of all lives aboard can be verified, MH370 would have been the deadliest aviation incident in the history of Malaysia Airlines and the deadliest involving a Boeing 777.

A black hole is a region of spacetime from which gravity prevents anything, including light, from escaping. The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass will deform spacetime to form a black hole. The boundary of the region from which no escape is possible is called the event horizon.

Although crossing the event horizon has enormous effect on the fate of the object crossing it, it appears to have no locally detectable features. In many ways a black hole acts like an ideal black body, as it reflects no light.

This temperature is on the order of billionths of a kelvin for black holes of stellar mass, making it all but impossible to observe.

Objects whose gravitational fields are too strong for light to escape were first considered in the 18th century by John Michell and Pierre-Simon Laplace. The first modern solution of general relativity that would characterize a black hole was found by Karl Schwarzschild in 1916, although its interpretation as a region of space from which nothing can escape was first published by David Finkelstein in 1958. Long considered a mathematical curiosity, it was during the 1960s that theoretical work showed black holes were a generic prediction of general relativity. The discovery of neutron stars sparked interest in gravitationally collapsed compact objects as a possible astrophysical reality.
