Some Picture Presentation of Youth Activities on National Youth Day Celebration (11/02/2010) in

Cameroon organized by The Link Corporation

Presented byNdonwi Derick Shu

Youth Climate Change Master Trainer

Important facts to note

• It is important to know that The Link Corporation had formed a Youth Climate Change Crusade that led a crusade march pass on the 11th Feb. 2010.

• The following school Clubs were involved: Environmental, Health, Science and Journalism.

• Several schools were already trained and networked on climate change and environmental issues and how young people can develop interest in sustainable and profitable agriculture. In fact at least 500 school children are involve from the outcome. This is to wipe away the stigma that agriculture is only for the old rural people but Scholars of any degree can invest in agriculture as well

• That this network needs extensions and sustainability. That is why we wish to introduce them to the YUNGA Network for knowledge exchange.

The objectives/aims of the Network

• Young people will be found discussing burning CC and environmental issues amongst peer groups;

• Students will write and present articles on CC and the environment during every morning devotion and school magazines;

• Move towards taking actions and policies to mitigate or adapt to CC.

• Share their experiences and knowledge with other youths elsewhere (Networking);

• Explain to their parents and other members of the community what CC or global warming is.

Training in the Classroom

Teachers of the Institutions were also invited to take part in the Classroom training.
