On power sources• Before operating the system, check that the operating

voltage is identical to your local power supply. Theoperating voltage is indicated on the nameplate at therear of the active subwoofer.

• Ifyou are not going to use the system for a long time,be sure to disconnect the system from the wall outlet(mains). To disconnect the AC power cord (mainslead), grasp the plug itself; never pull the cord.

• One blade of the plug is wider than the other for thepurpose of safety and will fit into the wall outlet(mains) only one way. If you are unable to insert theplug fully into the outlet, contact your dealer.

• AC power cord (mains lead) must be changed only atthe qualified service shop.

• Install this system so that the power cord can beunplugged from the wall socket immediately in theevent of trouble.

On heat buildupAlthough the system heats up during operation, this isnot a malfunction. If you continuously use this systemat a large volume, the system temperature of the backand bottom rises considerably. To avoid burningyourself, do not touch the system.

On placement• Place the system in a location with adequate

Dolby DigitalThis movie theater sound format is moreadvanced than Dolby Surround Pro Logic. In thisformat, the surround speakers output stereosound with an expanded frequency range, and asubwoofer channel for deep bass isindependently provided. This format is alsocalled "5.1" with the subwoofer channeldesigned as the 0.1 channel (since it functionsonly when a deep bass effect is needed). All sixchannels in this format are recorded separatelyfor superior channel separation. Furthermore, since all the signals are processed digitally, lesssignal degradation occurs.

Dolby Pro Logic IIDolby Pro Logic II creates five full-bandwidthoutput channels from 2 channel sources. This isdone using an advanced, high-purity matrixsurround decoder that extracts the spatialproperties of the original recording withoutadding any new sounds or tonal colorations.

DTSDigital audio compression technologydeveloped by Digital Theater Systems, Inc. Thistechnology conforms to 5. I-channel surround. This format comprises of stereo rear channel andthere is discrete subwoofer channel in thisformat. DTS provides the same 5.1 discretechannels of high quality digital audio. The goodchannel separation is realized due to the allchannel data being recorded discretely andprocessed in digitally.

HDMIHDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)is an interface that supports both video and audioon a single digital connection, allowing you toenjoy high quality digital picture and sound. TheHDMI specification supports HDCP (Highbandwidth Digital Contents Protection), a copyprotection technology that incorporates codingtechnology for digital video signals.
