Charging the supplied rechargeable battery Thesupplied rechargeablenickel-metal hydridebattery is not charged fromthefirst timeyou usethem. Chargethem beforeuse. To chargethe battery, connecttheCHARGE plugof the transmitterto theheadphones. 1 Remove the battery compartmentlid on the left housingof the headphones. Therearetactiledotsontheuppersideofthelid andthe housingto checkthe position ofthelid. Pressand turn thelid counter-clockwisewith yourpalmso that thedot on thelid alignswith theleft sidedot oft hehousing. Inclinetheheadphonesto dropthecoveroffthe housing. 2 Insertthe supplied rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery into the battery compartment, matchingthe terminalson the battery to the marksin the compartment. Do not userechargeablebattery otherthan thesupplied ones. 3 Close the battery compartmentlid. Pressand turn thelid clockwisewith yourpalm so that thetactile dot on thelid matchesto right sidedot ofthe housing. 4 Connectthe supplied ACpower adaptorto the transmitter. Afterthat, connectthe CHARGE plugof the transmitterto jacklocated on the l eft housing. POWERindicatorlocated on thetransmitterlights up red. Priorto usingforthe first time,chargethe rechargeablebattery untilthe POWERindicator(red) turnsoff (approximately 16 hours). Fromthenext time, chargingtimeto thefullchargewilbe almost equalto thepreviousoperating time. Ifthe transmitterisconnected to theheadphone jack, set thevolume controlof theaudio sourceequipment as high aspossiblebut not so high that theaudio signal becomesdistorted. 2 Disconnectthe CHARGE plugfrom the headphones. Thetransmitter’sPOWERindicatorlights upgreen. CHG  Transmitter Headphones CHARGEplug 3 Selectthe radio frequency with the CHANNEL selectorswitch. CHANNEL I V 1 2 4 Turn on the switch on the lefthousingof the headphones. Checkif thepower indicatoron theleft housinglights upred. Placethe right hous ing on yourright earand theleft housing on yourleft ear. Thereisa tactiledot on thehangermarked to distinguish theleft side. ON POWER OFF 5 Selectthe channel tothatof the transmitterwith the switch on the ri ghthousing ofthe headphones. Turn upthe volumeto a moderatelevelwith the VOLUME controlon theleft housing. 2CH 1CH VOLUME SendingRF signalsfrom the transmitter Thetransmitterstarts sendingRFsignals automatically when it detectsan audiosignalfrom theconnected equipment. Ifthe transmitterdoesnot detect anaudio si gnalfor more than about 4 minutes,it willstop sendingRF signals, and thePOWER indicatorwillb linkfor 1 minute, and then turn off. When thetransmitterreceivesan audio signal again, it starts sendingthe RFsignals, and thePOWER indicatorwill light upgreen again. Youmay not hearthe beginningofthesound fromthe headphonesuntilt hetransmitterstarts sendingthe RF signalsafter detectingan audio si gnal. RFsignal transmission may stop when an extremely low sound is inputforabout 4minutes. If this happens, raise the volume of the connected AV componentwithin the range where the sound is notdistorted, and lower the  volume of the headphones . Notes Ifhissisheard, movecloserto thetransmiter. Youmay hearsomenoisewhenyoudisconnect theAC power adapt orfromthetransmitterbeforeturnofftheheadphones . The effective areas of the transmitter Theoptimumdistance isup to approximately 100 mwithout thesystem pickingupsome interference.However,the distancemay vary dependingon thesurroundingsand environment.Ifthe systempicksup somenoise within the abovementioned distance, reducethe distancebetween the transmitterunit and theheadphones, orselect another channel. Notes When youuse theheadphonesinsidetheeffectiveareasofthe transmitter, thetransmitter can beplaced in any direction fromth e listener. Even within thesignalreception area, thereare somespots(dead spots) wheretheRF signalcannot be received . Thischaract eristics isinherent to RFsignals, and doesnot indicate malfunction. By slightly movingthe transmitter, location ofthe dead spot can be changed. Replacing the earpads Theearpadsare replaceable. Ifthe earpadsbecomedirty or worn out, replacethemas illustrated below. Theearpad isnot commercially available. Youcan order replacementsfromthe storewhereyou purchased this system, orat your nearest Sony dealer. 1 Remove the old earpad by pullingitout ofthe groove on the housing. 2 Place the newearpad on the driverunit. Hangtheedgeoftheearpad on one sideofthedriver unit’sgrooveedge, then turntheedge ofearpad around thedriverunit as illustrated below . When theearpad issecurely inserted into thegroove, adjust theearpad to theverticalposition. Additional information Precautions Ifthetransmitterisnottobe usedforalongperiodof time, d isconnect theAC poweradaptor fromthe AC outlet by holdingtheplug. Do not pullon thecord. SendingRF signalsfrom the transmitterThetransmitterstarts sendingRFsignals automatically when it detectsan audio signalfrom theconnectedequipment.Ifthe transmitterdoesnot detect an audio signalfor morethan about 4 minutes, it willstop sendingRF signals, andthePOWER indicatorwillb linkfor 1 minute, and then turnoff.When thetransmitterreceivesan audio signal again, it startssendingthe RFsignals, and thePOWER indicatorwill lightupgreen again.Youmay not hearthe beginningofthesound fromtheheadphonesuntilt hetransmitterstarts sendingthe RFsignalsafter detectingan audio signal.

RFsignal transmission may stop when an extremely low sound is inputforabout 4minutes. If this happens, raisethe volume of the connected AV componentwithin therange where the sound is notdistorted, and lower the

 volume of the headphones.

The effective areas of thetransmitterTheoptimumdistance isup to approximately 100 mwithoutthesystem pickingupsome interference. However, thedistancemay vary dependingon thesurroundingsandenvironment. Ifthe systempicksup somenoise within theabovementioned distance, reducethe distancebetween thetransmitterunit and theheadphones, orselect anotherchannel.

When youuse theheadphonesinsidetheeffectiveareasofthetransmitter, thetransmitter can beplaced in any direction fromth elistener.

Even within thesignalreception area, thereare somespots(deadspots) wheretheRF signalcannot be received. Thischaracteristicsisinherent to RFsignals, and doesnot indicate malfunction. By slightly movingthe transmitter, location ofthe dead spot can bechanged.

Replacing the earpadsTheearpadsare replaceable. Ifthe earpadsbecomedirty orworn out, replacethemas illustrated below.Theearpad isnot commercially available. Youcan orderreplacementsfromthe storewhereyou purchased thissystem, orat your nearest Sony dealer.

1 Remove the old earpad by pullingitout ofthe

groove on the housing.

2 Place the newearpad on the driverunit.

Hangtheedgeoftheearpad on one sideofthedriverunit’sgrooveedge, then turn theedge ofearpad aroundthedriverunit as illustrated below.When theearpad issecurely inserted into thegroove,adjust theearpad to theverticalposition.

1 Allumez l’appareil audio/vidéo raccordé au

transmetteur.

Sile transmetteurest raccordéà la prisedecasque,réglez la commandeduvolume del’appareilaudiosourcele plushaut possible, maissansque lesignalaudio nesoit déformé.

2 Débranchez la fiche CHARGE du casque.

Latransmission de signaux RFpeuts’arrêterlorsqu’unson extrêmementfaible estreçu pendantenviron 4minutes. En pareil cas, augmentezle volume de l’appareilaudio/vidéo raccordé à un niveau qui n’entraîne aucunedéformation du son etbaissezle volume du casque.

Portée du transmetteurLesystème peut fonctionnersans capterd’interférencesàunedistance optimalepouvant atteindreenviron 100 m.Cependant, la distancepeut varieren fonction de

1 Retirez l’oreillette usagée en la sortantde la

rainure du boîtier.

2 Installez la nouvelle oreillette surle transducteur.

Posez lebord del’oreillettesur un côtédela rainuredutransducteur, puistournez le bord del’oreilletteautourdutransducteur, commeillustréci-dessous.Lorsquel’oreilletteest bien inséréedansla rainure,ajustez-la en position verticale.
