BACKGROUND

SingHealth Flow Cytometry provides an avenue for researchers to conduct �ow analysis or �ow cell-sorting. It is available to all local and international researchers. This core platform is equipped with state-of-the-art cytometers. For the convenience of researchers, it also houses basic laboratory equipment for sample preparation. At appropriate times, SingHealth Flow Cytometry will work with vendors to introduce new technologies/systems to researchers.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Provide a�ordable and reliable �ow cytometry resources for researchers

Promote use of �ow cytometry through:

Education with knowledge sharing seminars

Hands-on training in basic competencies for researchers

Introduction of new equipment or techniques where appropriate

CORE STRENGTHS

We have facilities for basic sample preparation work, along with 3 cell analysers and a �ow cell-sorter:

BD LSRFortessa™ (Lasers - 355nm, 405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 640nm, 18 colours)

BD FACSAria™ III encased in Biosafety Cabinet (Lasers - 405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 633nm, 16 colours)

BD FACSCanto™ II (Lasers - 488nm, 640nm, 6 colours)

BD™ LSR II (Lasers - 405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 640nm, 13 colours)

DIRECTOR’S BIO

Dr Ling Khoon Lin is Director of SingHealth Flow Cytometry and Senior Consultant of Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Singapore General Hospital.

His current pursuits revolve around two major topics, namely “Innate Immunity and In�ammatory Bowel Disease” and “Probiotics, Prebiotics and In�ammatory Bowel Disease”. SingHealth Flow Cytometry headed by Dr Ling serves to support research e�orts and promote the use of �ow cytometry through the training and education of researchers.
