The Third Sorrowful Mystery

THE CROWNING WITH THORNS

1. Pilate asks Jesus, "Are You a king?" Jesus answers: " My kingdom is not of this

2. The soldiers place an old purple robe on Jesus to make fun of Him . (Pray the Hail Mary)

3. They made a crown out of thorns, and forcefully pressed it down on His head. (Pray the Hail

Mary)

4. They gave Him a reed, as a scepter. (Pray the Hail Mary)

5. Kneeling before Him, they spit on Him, and said,

"Hail, King of the Jews!"(Pray the Hail Mary)

6. Taking the reed from His hand they strike Him on the head, driving the

thorns more deeply into His head.(Pray the Hail Mary)

7. Pilate brings Jesus before the people, hoping His pitiful sight will soften

them: "Behold the man!"(Pray the Hail Mary)

8. Their response: "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" (Pray the Hail Mary)

9. Our Blessed Lord submitted to this terrible humiliation for us. (Pray the Hail Mary)

10. Our Father, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Pray the Hail Mary)

The Fourth Sorrowful Mystery

THE CARRYING OF THE CROSS

1.A person that is to be crucified is forced to carry their own cross. (Pray the

2. As the cross is laid on His back, it causes more pain for Jesus. (Pray the Hail Mary)

3. Weak and exhausted, Jesus falls. (Pray the Hail Mary)

THE CRUCIFIXION

3. While he was on the cross, Jesus said, "This day you will be with Me in paradise." (Pray the Ha
