Premium quality

The SORTEX A has been designed to offer the

ultimate in sorting performance. Designed and

developed in-house, the all new and upgraded camera

sensors, lenses and lighting enable improved detection

of subtle yellow, gray and purple grains and all other

defects without sacrificing perfectly good grains.

This ensures the highest qual ity product and

maximum yield, resulting in bigger profits and

enhanced reputation.

Maximum capacity

The SORTEX A’s pioneer ing new feed technology

ensures the product is delivered to the viewing area

consistently and evenly, which boosts capacity without

decreasing yield. The new feed system enables up

to 25% higher capacity per module compared to

the existing model, whilst maintaining a similar reject

concentration. Combine this with its five-module design

and the result is the highest capacity premium optical

sorter available.

Consistent performance

The new opt ical design, cameras and lighting give a

more even ejection rate across modules, delivering

consistent and reliable performance, month after

month. New vibrators, with the latest low-voltage digital

drive technology, give a consistent throughput across

modules. These factors lead to optimised sorting

performance, with minimal operator intervention.

The sealed opt ical and control boxes protect essential

components from dust, thereby enhancing consistency

further and reducing the maintenance down-time.

Flexibility and stability

The SORTEX A offers enhanced flex ibi lity and stabil ity

in performance, due to its product tracking and auto

calibration systems. This means that the machine

automatically and continuously takes into account

variations in the input product, enabling uninterrupted

running whilst ensuring that the quality of the accept

output does not suffer. Also, the machine is flexible

enough to handle significantly different inputs

(e.g. switching from parboiled rice to white rice), with

minimal operator intervention whilst still delivering thehighest quality accept results.

ever and the SORTEX A can be configured for a primary

sort, secondary sort and tertiary sort. It can re-sort high

contamination reject with greater precision using reverse

sort, where it is more efficient to fire at accept product,

Bühler designs and develops its own ejectors and

cameras, specifically for sorting rice and grain.

This experience translates into higher performance,

lower maintenance time and resources. This increased

reliability gives a lower cost of ownership. State of the art

lamp and vibrator control circuits, together with careful

heat management within the control box, have increased

uptime, to maximise productivity. It is an ultra-reliable

solution.

Fewer breakages

The unique design of the accept receptacle slows down

rice grains, prior to their exit from the machine, ensuring

gentle product handling, minimum product breakage, and

maximum product return. Bühler's broken rice monitor

offers feedback based on trends of the percentage of

broken grains, spot defects and colour defects in the

product. Should the set tolerances be passed an alert

will be displayed.

Viewing-area doors give easy access to the optical

glass and wipers. The SORTEX A is available with a

GSM Modem or standard land-line modem as an option,

enabling automatic fault reports to be sent to trained

Bühler personnel, who can respond quickly, reducing

down-time to a minimum. The systems interface

hardware and software now permits direct input from a

load cell in the customer's hopper, allowing the capacity

of the SORTEX A to be matched to the capacity of the

plant. The SORTEX A features a large colour display,

with multiple languages available on its user interface.

Clean, safe, compliant

Open design and construction contributes to delivering

safe and clean food, by preventing product accumulation

and making the machine easy to clean. The SORTEX A

is designed and produced to CE or NRTL standards.

It can even be produced to ATEX or Hazloc standards or

come specified with climate control for running in extreme

environments.
