CLOSING SONG BLESSING
Help us Embrace Covina by
volunteering in the Reading Lab at
Barranca School starting October
10. The following time slots are
available: Mondays 9:30-10:00
and Wednesdays 8:30-9:00; 9:00-
9:30 and 9:30-10:00. There are
also opportunities available to work
in the Library or reading to children
in the classroom where you may
choose your schedule. Please call
the church office to volunteer.
GOOD WILL You can help renovate our CE Building
bathrooms by getting rid of all your
unwanted items! That’s right! Good
Will pays Christ First for truckloads of
junk! Just bring your donations to the
truck at Christ First parking lot TODAY
from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The
enclosed flyer gives details on what
they can/can’t accept.
Please join us TONIGHT for the
stirring presentation of Hope in the
Midst of Devastation at 5:00pm as
we commemorate the tenth
anniversary of 9/11. Use the
enclosed flyer to invite your family
and friends. You won’t want to miss
the movie The Cross & the Towers.
Our Senior lunches resume on Tuesday,
September 13 at 11:30am. Our theme
is “JOY” and our special guest will be
Mark Bargaehr. Dick Allen will be our
chef for the day. Come share your JOY
with others—bring someone who hasn’t
come before (they will be our guest for
lunch). Please mark your Connection
Card to RSVP.
All ladies are invited to join us on
Tuesdays beginning September 13 at
9:15am in the Berean classroom (CE
102). This semester we will be
studying the book of Isaiah. Our
teacher is Betty Parkinson. If you have
any questions, please call the church
office at 626-339-7378.
Remember when you said that someday
you would make a difference in your
community by helping kids? Children
and teens need you today! Child
S.H.A.R.E. will be on the patio and
lounge next Sunday so you can learn
how to become a foster parent to an
abandoned, neglected or abused child.
If not now, when? If not us, who will
parent these forgotten children?
HEAR IT AGAIN You can sign up for a free copy of today’s message at
the information table on the patio or you can listen online
at www.christ-first.org

BARRANCA PROJECT
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 10 years since the tragedy of 9/11. That date brings back so many memories . Who could ever forget the horrific sight of planes crashing into buildings, flames and fear.
Although those sights bring us strong emotions —who could ever forget the sight of our nation bonding together in strong unity—People helping people; people expressing patriotism; people finding God. Today we focus on the One who provides Hope in the Midst of Devastation.
Blessings!

FOR YOUR CHILDREN We provide a full compliment of children’s ministries for 4 years old to sixth grade. A full service nursery is available for newborns to 3 years old. Ask an usher for assistance.
OFFERING Do not feel obligated to participate in the offering. The offering is for members and regular attendees who consider Christ First their home.
