For Returning SoulFire Applicants

1. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Northeast Atlantic Foursquare District and

SoulFire Student Home Missions Experience. I also understand that rules or policies may change from time to time due to circumstances that dictate such changes. If I have a disagreement with the program, I will bring my concerns directly to the Leadership Team and will not discuss it with anyone not in leadership.

2. I will abide by the standards of SoulFire that do not allow any of its leadership team or students to be involved with smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, or using illegal drugs. Also, theft, damaging property, physical injury to others, deception, and other forms of socially unacceptable behavior will be causes for

dismissal.

3. My parents and I have both read and we agree to abide to the SoulFire cell phone/electronics, dress code and dating policies. (See attached)

4. I agree to fully support the SoulFire leadership team in my word and conduct. I will remain positive and flexible.

5. I will attend and participate in all aspects of required ministry. This includes daily devotions, team prayer, worship, services, games and activities, clean up duties and all other duties as needed.

6. I understand the importance of SoulFire establishing a “family atmosphere” amongst the leaders and students in order to minister most effectively, therefore I will do my best to not establish “exclusive” relationships within the SoulFire team during our mission experience that would cause others to feel excluded or not a part of the team. I will do my best to look out for the needs and feelings of others in my attitudes, actions, and behaviors.

7. I acknowledge the information I provided in this application is correct to the best of my knowledge. I authorize any references, churches and background checks listed in the application to give you any information they may have, regarding my character and fitness for working with children and I release all such references from liability for any damage that may result from furnishing such evaluations to the Northeast Atlantic Foursquare District.

I, the undersigned, (and we the parents or legal guardians and/or custodians of the undersigned if a minor or under legal disability) in consideration of the services and sponsorship of the Northeast Atlantic Foursquare District, and all other valuable consideration and permission of the SoulFire Summer Student Missions Experience for me to participate as on the Ministry Team, under its auspices,

HEREBY RELEASE AND AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS the Northeast Atlantic Foursquare District and all of its officers, employees, agents and servants from any liability whatsoever that might involve me or any other person, corporation, agency or governmental unit whatsoever, as the result, whether immediate or proximate or not, of my participation on the SoulFire Summer Student Missions team, sponsored by the Northeast Atlantic Foursquare District; and I specifically agree to provide any and all insurance protection that may be necessary, helpful, or desirable for my participation and that I will not rely upon the Northeast Atlantic Foursquare District for such protection.

Furthermore, the signing of this document also grants permission for the participant to receive medical care as needed while at a SoulFire ministry event during the calendar year of 2015.

MINISTRY TEAM COVENANT

SoulFire: Summer Student Missions Experience Cell phone/Electronic devices/Dress code/ Dating policy for the Ministry Team

Students/Parents please read below:

We must remember that the first and only focus of SoulFire is on ministry. We want to minimize anything that distracts us from our sole focus of ministering to kids. SoulFire understands the day-to-day basic needs of communication and we realize that cell phone/electronic devices usage for young people can be a very difficult distraction. In order for our students be “fully present” during all SoulFire and camp activities, the following guidelines have been established.

1. During SoulFire, we strongly encourage you to be single focused on ministry and building relationships with other members of the SoulFire team. Thus, we want to be cautious in our use of Facebook, texting, Twitter, Snapchat e-mail, etc,… while a part of the SoulFire team and restrict any social media communication until the end of the SoulFire Missions Experience. 2. Cell phones/electronic devices will be turned off and left in rooms during daily activities or otherwise specified time by SoulFire leadership. Students will have flexibility to call home or return calls during established free time. Parents please be patient and expect return calls after 9 pm. 3. In case of an emergency, students can be contacted only through SoulFire leadership personnel; please do not attempt to contact your student at camp during the day. All SoulFire leadership will have quick access to your students at any time of the day. SoulFire leadership contact information is listed below. This again is only for emergency contact.

Dress Code Policy Realizing that there are many definitions when it comes to “modest dress” and we do not want to offend anyone as we minister, we have outlined some basic policies related to acceptable clothing during SoulFire activities. If you should decide to wear clothing that does not meet the guidelines listed below, you will be asked to change.

Guys Guys, please wear clothes that are loose fitting and long enough to come down over the waistband of your pants or shorts. This will eliminate your stomach area from showing and keep your underwear from being seen. We want to make sure we do not offend anyone as we minister. Also all swim suits must be pulled up and tied. If you have a problem with the swim suits still coming down you will need to wear a shirt.

Girls Girls, please understand that you will be ministering and actively playing with children, therefore shirts are not to be cut low enough to see your cleavage. Tank tops must have a two finger width strap with no bra straps showing. Pants, shorts and dresses that are so tight that your underclothes can be seen through them are not allowed. Also your shorts must be finger length. Also all girl swim suits need to be one piece. No two pieces. Tankinis are allowed but your stomach area must be fully covered or you will be asked to wear a t-shirt over your bathing suit. Bathing suits should also not be so low cut that your cleavage is showing.

See Reverse Side for More Information

Dating Policy Again, we must remember that our first and only focus for SoulFire is on ministry. Therefore, a potentially HUGE distraction is one of dating or “going out” with someone on the SoulFire team or someone at a camp that is not a part of SoulFire. You will not be allowed to date (or “go out with”) a person on the SoulFire Ministry Team. If you do make that decision to pursue an exclusive relationship with a person on the SoulFire team during our kids camps, both of you will be asked to leave the team. We feel strongly that this kind of commitment would definitely be distracting from the purposes of the team. Remember, your fellow teammates are your brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, all interactions within our team should be conducted in a brotherly/sisterly manner. Specifically, the following actions cannot and must not take place during our SoulFire experience: 1. No Holding Hands 2. No hugging (except for a brief hug) 3. No kissing 4. No sitting on each other laps 5. No being alone with a person of the opposite sex . Please understand that our goal is not to “police” your every move while you are a part of SoulFire. Our goals are that you would first fall more in love with Jesus and have a passion for Him. Secondly, we want to create a “family atmosphere” on the team where no one feels left out. Finally, we want you to be an example to everyone you come in contact with…from the kids, the young people and the adults. I Timothy 4:12 gives us a great guide - be an example in everything! This policy is intended to support our goals for you while you’re a part of the SoulFire Ministry Team. Please feel free to speak with us if you have any questions.
