Sound Bingo Game

People use sounds to explore the world and express ideas


Playing bingo RememberThe calling cards are the small square cards with the pictures on them.

Turn all the calling cards over.

Each person must pick their own bingo card.

Make sure each person discusses and understands the pictures they have on the bingo cards.

Your child(ren) may even want to write a translation of the given words in a more familiar language. This will help build connections between the two languages.

The middle square with the picture of someone listening on it is a free space word and can be used to match any word (not already on your card) called out by another person.

The caller chooses one calling card at a time and reads it out. If it matches a picture on a bingo card then that player covers the word with a counter.

The winner is the first person to get three words covered by counters in a row. The row can be horizontal, diagonal or vertical.

• Bingo Cards

• Calling cards

• Counters1. Choose a bingo card and organise your calling card pile.

2. Read and talk about the words on the bingo cards with the other players.

3. Put the calling cards face down in a pile.

4. Take turns to choose a calling card from the pile and read it to the group.

5. Look at your bingo card. If the picture being read out matches a picture on your card, cover it with a counter.

6. The first player to cover a line of picture words is the winner. (The line can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal)
