Setting The first impression I get from this audio is a very cold and isolated feeling due to the wind making the area seem baron and uninhabited. Also I can interoperate a Panic almost due to the Dialogue of the Voice actors as they seem distressed. Also coming to the end of the Scene it develops into almost an anger through the dialogue of the character and the throwing of objects such as paper can be heard throughout the scene.

I believe the Production techniques used to make theses sounds are Field recording for the Wind sounded also an instrumental recording inside a studio to add the ambiance to the scene. Also I believe a Field recording was used to create the sound of paper being thrown from the table.

Mood The mood of the scene has a large emphasis on panic at the start due to the soldier’s panicked tone of voice while on the radio, Also the scene becomes quite lonely due to the wind and echo sounds heard as the voice actor speaks.Later on in the scene it becomes much serious and transforms to a much more isolated area due to footsteps being heard and also the fact that the conversations between characters sounds close due to no echo being heard.

Too create the emphasis on panic I believe the production techniques used are inside a studio to capture the intensity in the voice of the voice actor and also the deep tones of instruments help to set the serious element of the scene.

Game genre Straight away you feel as though the game genre is veering over towards a horror and sy-fi theme due to the very Calm start which almost gives the

As I have stated before I believe most sounds where created using percussion instruments

feeling of isolation and also the wind adds to the feel of this. To do with the Sy-Fi aspect of the game during the scene the player accesses the menu which gives off a very futuristic sound which therefore gives the idea of space and the future?

and also may be very studio based as the wind sounds un-natural.

Narrative The dialogue during the scene gives off a panic through his tone of the voice. After the first sequence the tone is then very calm and serious due to the sequence between two males in the cut scene.

Much of the Instrumental made for these scenes where made inside a studio most likely using the Midi.
