Numerical time-series, i.e., sets of data
(covering periods of time) for part or all of a
single economy or the international economy.
Monthly, quarterly and annual.
Describes functions or inter-relationships
between variables which may be theoretical
(e.g. a production function) or factual.
Describe a static as opposed to a dynamicrelationship (e.g., an input-output matrix as
opposed to e.g.. a series showing changes of
automobile output over time).

At the level of an economy, these are compiled
by use of national accounts which includes themajor components such as Gross NationalProduct, Gross National Expenditure, GrossNational Income, and a whole panoply ofseries including output, etc.
Within a country the data series are usuallyproduced by one or more statisticalorganizations, e.g., a government or quasi-government organization and/or the central
bank. International statistics are produced byseveral international bodies and firms,including the InternationalMonetary Fund andthe Bank for International Settlements.
