Help Wanted!

The Worship Committee needs help with placing the drape on the outside crosses during the Lenten Season. If you are interested in helping, you would be responsible for making sure the purple, black, white and red drapes are placed on the cross in front of the church and in the

Memorial Garden four times during Lent. The Worship Committee will communicate the exact days each year so you can coordinate the placing of the drapes. Even though this is

a small task, it will make a big impact.

Please contact Lynn Burkes ([email protected]) or

Jenny Chase ([email protected])

Bear One Another’s Burdens In Galatians 6:2, we read “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Is something in your life weighing you down so much that you find it difficult to cope? Do you need someone in your life to help carry a burden so that you can have comfort and hope? This is why there are Stephen Ministers at South Aiken Presbyterian. We will not tell you what to do, but will be there for you as you struggle through a difficult time in your life. We will offer prayer, comfort, and Christian friendship. And in return, we expect nothing. We are here to “fulfill the law of Christ” and help bear the burdens that are simply too heavy right now for you to carry alone. Please contact us if you feel you could benefit from a Stephen Minister. Call Stephen Leader Lisa Lader (642-6840 or cell 439-2004), Pastor Dr. Christopher Crotwell, Associate Pastor Rev. Erin Morgan or Parish Associate Rev. Judy Bowling.

Please Sign Up for the following activity on the bulletin board just past the water fountain in the hall. May 22 – 5:30 PM – A return trip to Fort Gordon Dinner Theater for a buffet dinner followed by the production of Shear Madness by Paul Portner. It is billed as America's Favorite Comedy Whodunit! Very Funny with Shrieks of Laughter! Cost is $45 per person with no cost for riding the bus. Deadline is May TODAY. Sign-up sheet is posted in the back hall. June 4 – 4:30 PM - On this Thursday we will go Out-to-Dinner at the Old McDonald Fish Camp for a time of great fellowship while enjoying a good meal together. Bus ride is complementary, but you are on your own for the cost of your dinner. Deadline is June 7. Sign-up sheet is posted in the back hall. Please remember, once you sign-up you are obligated to pay for your ticket, less bus fee, unless you can sell it to someone else.

GREENDALE ELEMENTARY SUMMER BOOK FAIR

KINDERGARTEN, FIRST GRADE, SECOND GRADE, THIRD GRADE

Witness and Service Committee has organized a program whereby Greendale students from Kindergarten to

third grade will be given approximately 8, age appropriate, books to keep and read over the summer. Much

of what is learned during the school year is forgotten over the summer break. Providing students with books

may help prevent this decline. A school-based Book Fair has been organized at Greendale in May for the

nearly 300 students to select their books. Our goal is to raise $4800 for this program.

If you would like to participate in this program, please fill out the form below and make checks out to SAPC

with Book Fair in the memo.
