Alternate 1 – Cable Stayed Swing Bridge

Double-Leaf Swing Bridge With a Main Span Length of 340-ft. Each Leaf Supported by Cables Emanating From Transversely Inclined Flag-Pole Towers and Innovatively Integrated Roadway and Pedestrian Walkway Areas are Key Features of this Design Option.

Alternate 2 – Stayed Bascule

Four tower stayed spans provide a lower height profile than the swing option. The layout provides a movable span indistinguishable from the rest in the closed position. Rhythmic repetition of the span layout along the crossing, carefully sculptured diamond towers and the articulated stay profiles are the key features of this design.




Stayed Bascule Section



Alternate 3 – Arched Bascule

Arched bascule profile provides a bridge alternative with a traditional yet unique flavor. Main span of 550-ft is needed for this option to provide the required 250-ft navigational clearance due to the deeper profile of the bridge near the main piers. The approach spans leading to the movable section are of concrete construction.



Alternate 4 – Retractile

Seven span layout utilizing a unique curved truss provides a rhythmic repetition of the span layout along the crossing.
