SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS HOCKEYLeaders Against Norfolk Forward Dan DeSalvo leads the Stingrays in scoring this season against the Admirals, posting 10 of his 36 total points on three goals and seven assists in eight games. Max Novak has also been a big part of the team’s offense in the series with three goals and five assists for eight points. Mark Cooper has picked up seven points on three goals and four assists, while defender Tom Parisi has also been a big factor on the offensive end, scoring seven points on two goalsand five assists. Goaltender Parker Milner has three wins in fourappearances against the Admirals, while Logan Thompson is 2-1 inthree starts. Milner has the better goals-against average at 1.94, while both netminders have stopped 0.914% of shots they’ve faced from Norfolk shooters.

Rays Complete Trade For Branden Troock The Stingrays announced a deal with the Toledo Walleye Sunday to acquire forward Branden Troock in exchange for forward Jonathan Charbonneau and defenseman Dylan Zink. Troock, 25, is in his sixth professional season and had 13 points with six goals and seven assists in 16 contests with the Walleye this year. The Edmonton, Alberta native spent the 2018-19 season with the Atlanta Gladiators and Maine Mariners, totaling 21 points in 27 games on 10 goals and 11 assists. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound forward has appeared in 119 total AHL games in his career, scoring 37 points on 13 goals and 24 assists. 98 of those contests came between 2014-16 with the Texas Stars, while Troock also had stints with the Tucson Roadrunners and Hartford Wolf Pack. Originally a fifth-round pick of the Dallas Stars in the 2012 NHL Draft, Troock played in 144 games with the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds from 2009-14 and netted 45 goals along with 56 assists for a total of 101 points before turning pro.

Milner Silences Norfolk For 7th ShutoutAfter a win in the ECHL’s All-Star Classic earlier in the week, Parker Milner followed up the performance by stopping all 26 shots he faced on Saturday night. The standout netminder earned his second shutout in his last three games, leading the Stingrays to a 3-0 defeat of the Norfolk Admirals. Despite Milner’s brilliance, Norfolk’s Michael McNiven kept the Admirals in the game, stopping the first 29 shots that SC put on net prior to the third period. Three goals in the third gave the Rays a series sweep of Norfolk and wins in six of their first eight contests against the Admirals.

Thompson Shuts Down Admirals In 4-1 Win For RaysGoaltender Logan Thompson led the South Carolina Stingrays to a 4-1 win over the Norfolk Admirals Friday night by turning aside 27 shots in the opening game of a weekend series between the two teams at the Norfolk Scope. Forward Max Novak had two points for the Rays on the offensive end with a goal and an assist, while Cam Askew, Tommy Hughes and Mark Cooper also posted tallies for South Carolina in the victory. The Rays had the lone power play goal of the game and finished 1-for-7 on the man-advantage while Norfolk ended at 0-for-4.
