I would like to congratulate our students, staff and community on the many fantastic achievements our school has accomplished this year across a variety of areas. The partnership between school and home is an extremely valuable one and we thank you for your support of the many initiatives our school has implemented throughout the year. Our school is at the forefront of the current reform processes being implemented by the Department of Education and Communities and we are recognised as a leading school. We pride ourselves on offering our students every opportunity to pursue their goals and achieve their dreams. Our school is recognised for its equity and capacity to instil in all our students resilience, compassion, citizenship and aspirations. We are very proud of our students and how they have represented our school in such an excellent manner during 2015. Congratulations to our new School Leaders for 2016. I am looking forward to this team leading our students with PRIDE next year. These students will have a very important role in our school and our culture of student leadership is very well recognised for the high quality of students who are elected to these positions. Congratulations to our new captains Hannah McNaught and Logan Tough, Vice Captains Ashleigh Tibbett and Ryan Vickers. Prefects are Mia McGrath, Saskia McGrath, Noah Edwards, Maddison Giggins, Grace Pearson, Brooke Jackson, Jade Brierley, Mason Slis. What an amazing Presentation Day we held this morning to celebrate our students successes. Our congratulations to all our students who received awards today. We know your families would be very proud of you as we are. Thank you to all our families who were able to attend this ceremony and our thanks also to Ms Megan Johnson, the Principal of South Grafton High School for allowing us to use their auditorium. Our big thanks to Mrs Buckley, Mrs Berry, Mr Taylor, Mr Jurd, Mr Causley, Mr Cain and all our staff for their organisation. Even though this presentation recognises selective students we are also very aware that a very high percentage of our students could have also received an award today. This is a very difficult task for teachers as we have many wonderful students at our school. A full list of award winners is attached to this newsletter. Earlier this week we held a number of silver/gold badge morning teas. Congratulations to all our students who have achieved this excellent level of our positive reward system. All our morning teas were extremely well attended by our community and we thank you for your support. Our thanks also to our staff who organised these assemblies and Mrs Cassematis for organising the delicious food. Congratulations to all our students who are participating in Rewards Day as part of our positive reward system. Our students really enjoy these end of term rewards and we thank our wonderful staff who make them so attractive for our students. On Monday night we will be holding our Year 6 Farewell. We wish all our Year 6 students a fabulous evening and all the best for high school next year. Our thanks to our Year 6 teachers Miss Cotten, Mr Newman, Mr Taylor and Mrs Pope for their guidance of these students this year. Our thanks to Mrs Kelly Vickers and all our P&C members for another successful year. We appreciate the support our P&C gives to our school and value the strong partnership we have. We would like to thank two of our outgoing members Mrs Lisa Masson and Mrs Kim Brown for their outstanding contributions to our P&C and our school. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours. I would like to wish all our families a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday.
