support that we are able to say that anyone with almost any problem can call
in for support, if there is no-one there to help, someone knows where to get

Community Groups Do you want more from your community?
Can you give more to your community? Well, I can help!
My name is Kim and I am a Development Worker based in Early Help and Prevention Services, Adult Social Care, Norfolk County
Council. My role is to work with members of the community to help
increase social opportunities for people living in South Norfolk. Social groups are vital for the health and wellbeing of our
communities.
If you have an idea of a group you would like to set up, but are
not sure where to begin, or are a small group who needs some help to expand, I can help you.
With my advice, guidance, financial signposting and continued support, we can make South Norfolk a better, friendlier and more
inclusive place to live.
Let’s work together to help those who may be lonely, or isolated

If you are helping someone where something needs to be sorted ASAP, it helps to have information resources to hand to make this hopefully a little easier. This information is not intended to cover regular type situations as you are likely to be already familiar with these. The below scenarios are likely to occur at some point for many professionals with those they are supporting. Mental Health There are already dedicated pathways for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The below suggestions are intended to help people who may be at risk of experiencing a decline in their mental health in the future. Crisis services and planning for a crisis - Mind A guide explaining what mental health crisis services are available, how they can help and when to access them. Also provides guidance on how you can plan for a crisis. https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/guides-to-support-and-services/crisis-services/accident-emergency-ae/#.XftqZ_inyZc Dealing with a mental health crisis or emergency - NHS https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/mental-health-services/dealing-with-a-mental-health-crisis-or-emergency/ Emergency lock changes Master Locksmith Association – how to find a fully vetted locksmith to change your lock/s. https://www.locksmiths.co.uk/

Cadent gas The Priority Services Register (PSR) helps energy companies like us look after customers who have extra communication, access or safety needs. When your gas is off, we know it can be a really stressful time. It can be even more challenging for people who have extra communication, access or safety needs. The Priority Services Register ensures that in the event of a gas emergency, people in need can access the best possible service - because customers living in the most vulnerable situations in our society deserve our care. https://cadentgas.com/Emergencies-safety/Safeguarding/PSR-registering-myself Urgent transport requests Find your transport tool for Community Transport (check if you need to book in advance) https://maps.norfolk.gov.uk/findyourtransport/ If you need the transport for medical reasons check if you can get a refund for travel costs https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/help-with-health-costs/healthcare-travel-costs-scheme-htcs/

Who are we?
The Screwfix Foundation is a registered charity set up in 2013. We have a clear purpose of raising funds to support projects that
will fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and community facilities for those in need throughout the UK. How do we raise
money? We raise funds throughout the year to support causes that will change people’s lives. We work with both national and local
charities, donating much needed funds to help all sorts of projects, from repairing buildings and improving facilities in deprived reas,
to decorating the homes of people living with sickness and disabilities.
The Screwfix Foundation Facts
The Screwfix Foundation currently offers local registered charities and not for profit organisations funding of up to £5,000. All
applications are reviewed individually by our team on a quarterly basis, the review dates are in February, May, August and
November. All successful applications will be contacted by post, email or phone to arrange the next step. Unsuccessful applicants
will be contacted within one month of the review meeting. If on the first instance an application is unsuccessful, we welcome any
future applications charities may wish to make.
How To Apply
Before applying for The Screwfix Foundation funding, please ensure your charity:
•Is a registered charity or not for profit organisation.
•Is helping those in need by reason of financial hardship, sickness, disability, distress or other disadvantage in the UK.
•Is looking for funding to support projects that relate to the repair, maintenance, improvement or construction of homes, community
