He/she will also have their artwork placed on a vehicle wrap design that will be on the tailgates of SSJID’s irrigation water delivery trucks through October, 2019. The Grand Prize Winner’s school will also receive a $250 Staples Gift Card for art sup-plies!

Here’s What You Could Win...

Get out your crayons and markers because we need all of you artists to help us create a vehicle wrap that will be used on the tailgates of our irrigation water delivery trucks throughout this Irrigation Season. We are holding this contest to find out just how creative you can be about water and how important it is to our lives, especially here in the San Joaquin Valley. We would like you to create a poster with the theme of “Everything Grows Where Water Flows!” We will choose the best design using this theme to make vehicle wraps that will be on the backs of our trucks. Our trucks are seen everywhere in our community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

SSJID Vehicle Wrap Art Contest

CONTEST SPONSOR

South San Joaquin Irrigation District is sponsoring this

student art contest as a way to educate students about

SSJID and the importance of water in our community. The

winning artwork will be featured as vehicle wraps on the

backs of our water delivery trucks.

PARTICIPATION

The contest is open to students in first (1st) grade through

fifth (5th) grade enrolled in Manteca Unified School District,

Ripon Unified School District or Escalon Unified School

District.

ARTWORK THEME

Contest participants are asked to submit artwork related to

the theme “Everything Grows Where Water Flows!”

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

Artwork must be original and the work of one artist only.

Artwork must relate to the theme and must include the

theme words. Size: 8.5” x 11” (horizontal format only).

Materials: White drawing paper. Crayon, felt pen, colored

pencils or paint. Make lettering large enough to reproduce

well. Check for spelling errors and keep lettering away from

borders. Copyrighted characters, product logos and names

cannot be used. The name of the student must not appear

on the front of the artwork. Pencil markings should be

erased.

SELECTION PROCESS

A panel of judges will select winning entries from the

artwork submitted. Winners, their teachers and principals

will be notified by phone in May, 2019.

REMINDERS TO TEACHERS

Artwork submitted must have an entry form attached to its

back (see next page). Check to see that the information

provided is legible, complete, signed by you as well as a

parent/guardian and securely attached to the artwork with

transparent tape.

PRIZES/RECOGNITION

SSJID considers each child who enters the contest to be a

winner. Each student who submits artwork will receive a

letter of appreciation. The six (6) winners will receive the

following prizes:

1st through 3rd grades 4th through 5th grades

1st Prize - $75 gift card 1st Prize - $75 gift card

2nd Prize - $50 gift card 2nd Prize - $50 gift card

3rd Prize - $25 gift card 3rd Prize - $25 gift card

One grand prize winner will have his/her artwork added to

a SSJID vehicle for one year. The grand prize winner will

receive a gift card for $100. The grand prize winner’s school

will receive a gift card for $250 from Staples for art supplies.

CONTEST CHECKLIST

Please check the following items before submittal to SSJID

for proper consideration:

o Entry form is securely attached to back of artwork

with transparent tape. Artwork which is not

accompanied by the entry form will be ineligible

for competition.

o Entry form is legible, completely filled out, and

signed by the student’s teacher AND

parent/guardian.

o Artwork meets size specifications listed under

“Artwork Requirements.”

o Artwork focuses on the theme.

o Title of artwork should be “Everything Grows

Where Water Flows.”

o All artwork is securely packaged and mailed flat.
