Speaker
Pastor John McDuff, District Assistant Superintendent will be the Pow Wow speaker.
Pow Wow Site
The Pow Wow will be down by the Colorado River where it was last year. The Country Camp administration commended the Royal Rangers last year for leaving the site clean and for not damaging any property. I was very proud of our leaders and boys. It is a good reflection on our leadership.
Special Emphasis
Bible skills and Trail Ranger water sports.

Subject: Excused Absence for Pow Wow Participants - May 4-5-6, 1984
ROYAL RANGERS is a Christ-centered, Bible-based, adventure-filled boy's organization sponsored by the Assemblies of God.
The South Texas District conducts a Pow Wow each year for the boys and leaders of the district. Since this supervised camping activity involves one school day this year, I respectfully request that you grant an excused absence for participating boys, allowing them to make up their assignments at your discretion.
I appreciate your consideration toward this request.
May God bless,
Ralph Williams RW/bk

GENERAL POW WOW INFORMATION
1. Emergency telephone: 409/732-3622 or 409/732-8061
2. All registration sheets should be filled out before arriving at Pow Wow.
3. All leaders and boys who are not chartered will be required to charter at the Pow Wow.
4. Campsites will be by Section. Please do not use more space than you need so the late comers will have space.
5. Registration will be $7.50 per person with proof of insurance.... $1.50 additional charge per person for outpost without insurance. Turn in Medical permission forms at registration. All boys are required to have a Medical Permission form (use one enclosed).
6. Each outpost must provide its own food, shelter, firewood and camperaft. Some wood is available--use only squaw wood and dead wood on the ground.
7. Water is available from a hose. Bring containers to carry water to your campsite.
B. Soft drinks, candy, and snow cones will be sold at the Pow Wow. NO GLASS BOTTLES ALLOWED if drinks are brought. Pow Wow T-shirts and Royal Ranger supplies will be sold at Pow Wow.
9. Do not cut any live wood.
10. Excavations for latrines and campfires must be restored to a natural state before leaving.
11. All trash and garbage must be carried home with you. Bring adequate plastic garbage bags with you. Suggest burning all burnables.
12. Uniform for boys for Sunday morning inspection will be class B, all other times will be Royal Ranger T-shirts or Pow Wow T-shirts and long pants. Uniform for leaders will be class B for entire F'ow Wow.
13. Bring your outpost banner, streamers and patrol flags to the Pow Wow. Carry them to the Council Fire services.
14. Be prompt to all called meetings.
15. Outpost Commanders will be responsible for campsite cleanliness at the end of the Pow Wow. We need to leave the site better than we found it.
16. Campsite preparation should he by hand tool's only----NO LAWN MOWERS ALLOWED. Lawn mowers are Very dangerous becaUse they throw things and there will be too many boys around to- takea chance.
17. The Pow Wow is for Pioneers, Trailblazers, Air-Sea-Trail Rangers and male leaders only. The only exception will be that the Straight Arrow and Buckaroo District Royal Ranger of the Year can attend the Pow Wow with their outpost.
18. For campsite inspection, please have a representative in camp so the inspection team can ask them questions, or the representative can be sure the inspection team gave them credit for all crafts. A schedule of inspections will be posted. Items are to be properly lashed (minimun 1/4" size rope) with ends whipped or backspliced. Maximum of 5 camp crafts per outpost will be counted.
19. Commanders- Please have one commander in charge of your outpost at all times. In the past, outposts would be without supervision while the commanders went to meeti ngs.
20. No double-bit axes are allowed at the Pow Wow or any other Royal Ranger function any time. They are very dangerous for boys to us( This ruling is a nationwide rule. Radios, electronic games and fireworks are not allowed.
