School Times
School starts at 9.20am with recess at 11.20am. All students will have a fruit break at 10.20am. This will occur in the classrooms and we ask parents to send along a small piece of fresh fruit or dried fruit – no fruit bars or juicy fruits (oranges, nectarine, pears). Classes resume at 11.40am with lunch at 1.10pm. Afternoon lessons will commence at 2.05pm and finish at 3.20pm.
Kindergarten students will finish at 3.20pm.
South Wagga PS annual Swimming Carnival is on Thursday 4th February 2016. The carnival will take place at the
Oasis Swimming Complex. Students will be walking to and from the pool leaving school at 9.20am and returning
by 3.20pm.
No child will remain at the pool after the carnival. Pupils who walk home past the pool will be able to be dismissed
outside the pool if they have written permission. ALL pupils in Years 3-6 will attend the carnival. Admission is
$4.00 (no charge for season ticket holders). Students will need to bring swimmers, towel, HAT, cover up,
sunscreen and T-shirt. Please provide your child with lunch, snack and drinks, as access to the pool canteen will
be restricted although children will be allowed to use the canteen at certain times throughout the day.
Across the pool events, in all strokes, will be held for those students who are unable to swim 50 metres.
When not directly involved in the carnival, students will be seated under cover on the grass area. Pupils are
encouraged to wear their Sport House colours if possible, but no crepe paper is to be included in their decorations.
Parents, who are able to assist at the carnival as timekeepers, are asked to indicate on the permission note given
to student yesterday. All races will be timed finals.
Students in Year 2 who turn 8 years of age in 2016 and are exceptionally strong swimmers may attend.
If parents wish to attend they may purchase an all-day pass for $2.50 from the OASIS on the day.
