Police Officer recruitment campaign

SYP will be going live with our next Student Officer “Be The Future” recruitment campaign on the 19th July 2021, where we will be accepting applications for our Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship

As part of our Positive Action initiative, we are committed to improving representation amongst our new recruits to ensure SYP are representative of the community it serves.

Our biggest area of underrepresentation is within ethnic minority groups, across both police staff and Police Officers and the National Uplift is opportunity for us to really increase representation of Police Officers within this group

We are seeking support to encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to consider a career in policing, particularly those from ethnic minority backgrounds/hard to reach communities to continue our commitment to be a Force that is truly representative of the community

Routes into becoming a Police Officer

(PEQF)

Routes into Policing have recently changed, and Forces have adapted

the PEQF (Policing Education Qualifications Framework).

We have partnered with Sheffield Hallam University to deliver the academic

learning. For each route into Policing there is a UCAS points

requirement/qualification requirement, so we were keen to provide a little

further information around this.

As discussed, when we open for applications for Police Officer in July we will

only be accepting applications for the Police Constable Degree

Apprenticeship.
