This week’s fixtures and results: The Year 7 girls played their first ever netball game this week against Thorpe Hall and……. THEY WON 5-0! The girls played a very strong game against a talented team and to top it off Emily got ‘Player of the Match’ from the Thorpe Hall players! Congratulations to Angel, Robyn, Jess, Emily, Rekiyat, Lilly, Ella and Kianna on their amazing win! What a fantastic achievement from our Year 7 & 8 ladies football team, who travelled to Eastwood for an EFL Tournament on Thursday 24 th October. The EFL Tournament was organised by Southend United who showered the teams with tips and encouragement throughout. Despite such miserable weather, the spirits were high among all. The first game played was against Castleview which the ladies lost 3-0. However, the ladies came back with a 2-0 win against Westcliff High for Girls with Maddie scoring an absolute belter and Leah cracking one in from a corner. Not only that but Mariah stunned the Southend United coaches with her astonishing score from the goal line……yes, you read correct, she scored from her own goal!! Toni-Ann also stuck one into the top right corner. This gave us our second win of the day against Cecil Jones with a 2-1 finish. Sadly, we were then beaten by Beauchamps 1-0 and did not make it to the semi-final. However, the standard the girls were up against was extremely high, playing against teams such as Wickford and Shenfield! Well done to all the wonderful ladies involved for their immense effort. Keep an eye out on the Southend United YouTube channel for Southchurch High School Press conference on the day. Vacancies We often have vacancies for staff which are advertised on the school website. If you, or someone you know, would be interested please see the advert on the vacancy section of our website.
