  • O They are languages that all people speak that cut across racial, cultural, social, educational, and economic barriers and enhance cultural appreciation and awareness.

O They are symbol systems as important as letters and numbers.

O They provide opportunities for self-expression, bringing the inner world into the outer world of concrete reality.

O They create a seamless connection between motivation, instruction, assessment, and practical application-leading to deep understanding.

O They are an opportunity to experience processes from beginning to end.

O They develop both independence and collaboration.

O They provide immediate feedback and opportunities for reflection.

O They make it possible to use personal strengths in meaningful ways and to bridge into understanding sometimes difficult abstractions through these strengths.

O They improve academic achievement - enhancing test scores, attitudes, social skills, critical and creative thinking.

O They exercise and develop higher order thinking skills including analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and "problem-finding.“

    responsible for

    making up work

  • Please be mindful

    of tardies,

    absences, and trip

    forms…

    If your child is not

    at school, we

    cannot help them

    succeed.

    Students must

    participate in

    rehearsals to be

    considered for

    stage time.

Being on time and present for school is incredibly

    important:

The importance of education: Your commitment to school attendance sends a message to your child that education is a

priority for your family, going to school every day is a critical part

of educational success, and that it's important to take your

responsibilities seriously including going to school and being

    prepared.

Achievement: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to pass reading and math assessments. There is also a

    strong correlation to future success.

Exposure to the content: Whether the subject is science, reading, or drama, a student who is at school is able to

participate which increases the likelihood of long term

    understanding.

Being part of the school community: Just by being present at school, your child is learning how to be a good citizen. Here at

school they are constantly learning to be part of a team.

    Please be

    mindful of

    driving

    slowly in our

    parking lot

  • Some notes from the Nurse

O Immunizations O K-8 must have completed immunizations.

    O Official forms are necessary

O Parent Notes O 10 notes are accepted for full day absences (not tardies).

your vehicle and escort them inside of the building.

of the building - once the buses have departed.

Please be sure to wait in the car line which begins

    • It is important to note that changes in your

student’s normal dismissal routine must be made

    in writing. **

    • We cannot accept dismissal changes over the

phone. Please be sure your pick-up person comes

    to school with identification.

    no bus passes

    being issued

behavioral expectations apply. Riding the school bus

    is a privilege.

    Practice shuttle site etiquette

bus to retrieve your child. (Example: Georgetown
